I've got all of my PCs set for maximum eye comfort:
I use flux to adjust for the passing of time (and significantly improve my sleeping schedule).
None of my desktops have backgrounds with white in them.
I use Night MAL.
I have a dark skin for FB, Wikipedia, and Youtube. (Google the app called Stylish)
You might check out some of that stuff if it continues to bother you. I'm online all day, so the little issues with my usage really build up.
This sounds dumb, but I can also maintain my eyesight and prevent getting stir-crazy from just walking outside for 5min after dinner. Even taking the trash outside and looking around (think 1000yd stare, to help your eyes learn to focus properly again) would do the job. If you have a dog, or have ever owned one, you know they can go insane from being locked inside all day, and it's no different with humans.
I apologize for spewing unwarranted advice all over your profile page, but you might find some of this useful.
