When my friend told me to read this manga, I was first like, "Sure, why not". Of course, he didn't tell me what it was about. I then proceeded to look it up, and read the synopsis. I instantly told my friend "I will not read this". He told me to give it a shot, saying that despite its unusual concept, it was actually a very good manga.

So, I trusted him and gave it a shot.

Onani Master Kurosawa is a very good series. It is about a high school student who has a habit of going to a girls bathroom at his school after school ... ends and masturbating. Prewarning - THIS IS NOT AN ECCHI SERIES!

The idea may seem highly stupid and unusual, but it is used in an interesting way. It becomes a deep series, with an interesting story, and incredibly well written characters and situations. It is NOT always about the main character masturbating in the bathroom. It becomes more than that.

We see the characters change throughout the series highly. Every character is written deeply and with a lot of thought. They are the best part of the series, with their interactions being important to the series and helping develop it further than could be expected in such a series.

The artwork is good, but not as good as it could be.

Overall, this series was highly enjoyable. I would recommend this series to anyone who isn't offended by the idea of somone masturbating. While never shown, it is a highly important part of the series.

Otter 11, based on the manga originally thought up in "Bakuman", is not the best manga out there by any means. In fact, I would not recommend this to anyone at all unless they've already read Bakuman.

The story itself is exactly what you'd expect after reading Bakuman. It is about a half human, half otter living in human society, and the implications of such a place.
The problem is that the story isn't actually that good, nor the art, nor the characters.

The story has the depth you'd expect, but is not interesting. I was bored within the first 10 pages, and forced myself to ... read on due to my love for Bakuman.

The artwork is at a necessary standard for the story, but doesn't surpass any high expectations one might have for it.

The character Otter 11 is interesting and deep, but everyone else has no significant or interesting role in the story. While the character himself, Otter 11, may be interesting and deep, with no decent story, he is not interesting to read about.

Overall, Otter 11 is not an incredibly good manga. It is more a tribute to the fans of Bakuman. So, if you have read Bakuman, it is worth a read just to see what they have done with it and to get an idea of what the "Otter 11" story within the series is actually about. On the other hand, if you haven't ever read Bakuman, stop reading this review and go read it. Then come back and give Otter 11 a go.

Saiyuki is a slow to start series. As I started, I was a little confused as to what the hell was going on, thinking that I'd missed something. Too much was happening with no proper character introductions, and no real story.

The story gets better as you go though. By the start of the second volume, I had regained my ground. I knew who the characters were and what they were doing.

Unfortunately Saiyuki's story isn't up to scratch. It isn 't a bad story, it just doesn't go anywhere. By the end of it, realising that it hadn't been completed and that there was an entire ... series. Saiyuki Reload follows it. The problem is that the story wasn't enticing enough for me to even bother with the next series. I was just a little annoyed that I thought I was getting to the end of the series and in the end there was little to no plot development, with the characters basically ending up back where they were at the start.

The characters in the series are interesting but highly cliched. The second I saw them, I could guess practically everything about them. And generally, I was correct. They are see-through and unbelievable. The only redeeming parts are the stories of Hakkai and Gojyo, who have deep and interesting backstories.

While the story and characters aren't amazing, the artwork is incredibly well done.The artstyle is a little hard to get used to, but once you have, it is the best thing about the series.

Overall, the series is interesting, but not really worth your time. If you've really got nothing better to read, give it a go. It's not bad, but there are much better series out there.
