Merry Bad End (Manga) add
Preliminary (1/8 chp)

It's a one-shot, there's not enough time to put depth into the characters so with that said, the story is enjoyable. It's labeled "shounen" but I think girls are a more suited audience (not to turn boys away though). The art is beautiful, and there's a strong female character. I think the better one-shots are those that make you think about life a little differently, or if there's a slight twist to the story. In any case, this manga was a nice read.

Because it was about the beautiful violin, I had to fall in love with it. The ghost element was also to my tastes and overall, I suppose I'm happy with the story, but I didn't feel an overwhelming love for it to put all manga love to shame. It's shoujo and supernatural, so I guess you can't expect it to make perfect sense, but I wish the author had made things a bit more clear. Lastly, this couldn't be ...

I chose this manga to be my first review since I'm currently reading it, and also because it's so powerful. I mean, the story really isn't a typical shojo story, and there isn't anything to call the story predictable (unless you already know the history behind it). I like historical fiction to begin with, and the romance was a plus, but it wasn't what I expected. I cried today reading the chapters, I felt so much pity for some of the characters. I don't agree with some of their choices (that's life), but I was moved by their thoughts, their selfishness, and their passion. It ...
