Jojolion is not terrible, but not comparable to the other Jojo's
Started off quite slowly as a mystery about the main character, therefore Josuke is inevitably framed as the worst and most boring main Jojo since it took ages to reveal his past and crucial information was concealed till near the end. The plot about the fruit seemed promising, but you have a character that can potentially track the fruit and the mentioned character is completely getting ignored?
Not to mention the irrelevant, pesky (Joshu, you dodged an entire paragraph) and tedious characters overall. The entire Higashikata family was mostly uninvolved in the plot with the fruit,
...
so why waste time and introduce them in the first place? Another thing that is so irritating is the villain. Unlike the other Jojo villains who appear halfway through, the villain in Jojolion appears right at the end. Totally messed up the suspense; imagine you almost finish Jojolion and be like "who is going to get the fruit and win it all" just to get bumped into by the actual antagonist of the manga; just made it feel like another lame encounter.
I don't even know what to think about the stands. So many are so vague or plain dull. Every time I see Soft & Wet it looks like the stand gained a new ability somehow and the enhanced version at the end just seemed like a pitiful attempt to recreate the magnificence of Steel Ball Run. Out of the blue another boring character explains the true capability of Josuke's stand and it is simply not cohesive.
Overall, Jojolion doesn't stand out in anything but being the worst Jojo of all. Perhaps the plot is its strong suit, but it got dragged down by pacing, messy showcasing of unnecessary information and characters.
