The story is very much a mixed feeling one; there are a ton of predictable moments, some exiting features and of course a good piece of morale advice that can be detected from it!
There are amazing chapters which I've re-read several times. Which feel warm, engaging and exciting. The romance felt natural and lightheartedly clumsy, and rewarding. A very lighthearted kind anime that has a lot of unexpected moments and it is not afraid to laugh at itself. So far the plot is similar to a lot of fantasy, magic school anime (probably even other big shows if you really think about it!). You have this mysterious guy that's not like the others, who does good with some Talk-no-Jutsu. Makes friends, has a fangirl and of course enemies-turn friends situations. There are struggles, there's fighting and success and of course failure. Hard work and being misunderstood. And a "deep" goal.
But that's about where similarities end because the show uses all these overused ...

Very mixed feelings about this manga. The first 70 or 80 chapters are a must-read, they are funny, full of development, twist and turns and sweet moments. They have conflict that is resolved through work and show great character development.
Then it felt as if the author kinda lost track when they got to the collage/university. It was refreshing to see a manga follow the characters throughout their life, but the conflicts became dull, everything was resolved with crying and s*x. The character development kinda staggered and it became a very monotone read. It became better at the very end but there were about 30 ... |
