I'm not very familiar w/CN animation works and I figured why not give this series a shot? It exceeded my low expectations and I'm curious about how S2 will end up.

TKA introduces the tale of Ye Xiu who is forced into early retirement from pro-gaming and his progress towards a new avatar and team on a different server. I would have to dock points for his characterization since he's almost too OP and no one can touch him which does make a cool intro but less impressive conflict in the series. The Big O (Anime) add
Art: The first thing I noticed was the the unique art style. It may look dated to some viewers, but I was a fan of the film noir-themed art direction. Many of the character designs reminded me of Western cartoons I had grown up with and I didn't mind the subdued colors.

OST: It was fair and suited the majority of the show's episodes. I like instrumental or orchestra music so I may be biased. Although, I didn't find the OP/ED to be all that memorable.

Characters: Roger Smith started the series as the enigmatic Negotiator and ends the series on a similar note. ...

Mixed Feelings
After finishing the series, I've thought that it had potential starting out, but became encumbered with the subplots.

Story: Starts out linear reverse-harem then suddenly diverts into a web of political intrigue and the romance is low-key for the rest of the series. I've only viewed the anime, so I can't compare how it's accurate to the original manga or not.

Art: For older manga adaption, it does look different compared to other series at the time 2008 and there was a noticeable quality drop in the later arcs. Overall, fairly consistent except for some of the action scenes.
