Owarimonogatari 2 is, for all intents and purposes, one of the best conclusions to a story I've seen in media.

There's something about this conclusion that's just different from others. With most series that end, there's that sense of "Emptiness" you feel. If you can describe that feeling with a phrase, it would be, "I wish it never ended.". However, Monogatari's conclusion does not instill that feeling in me, contrary to other anime's out there. Its ending leaves me completely satisfied, and with a smile on my face. I have no regrets, and I can move on from the series without any trace of sadness, ... which coincidentally, is also this season's theme.

After a long running 8 years of Monogatari, the story of Koyomi Araragi finally comes to a close. Themes, narrative, and character motives all come full circle. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to a story.

Although this may be the ending to "a" story, it doesn't mean it's the ending to "the" story ;)

Koyomimonogatari is what it's advertised to be: A collection of short stories revolving around Araragi and his group of friends.

The stories themselves take place in each month of Araragi's senior year, which is a great way to show how far the story has come. Each story has a punchline and a lesson to teach, which can either provide some insight into different perspectives in the narrative, or how Araragi grows as a person.

This season just has that "Bake" feel to it. The way that Araragi used to narrate and the original BGMs are back. It's quite nostalgic.

An overall nice cut-away from the main story. I ... very much enjoyed the short lessons.

Honestly I shouldn't be surprised anymore on how good Monogatari can get.

Owarimonogatari is probably my favorite season thus far; It's honestly comparable to Bakemonogatari in terms of quality. There wasn't a single moment in this season that had be bored, even when episodes were just two characters having a discussion. But at this point into the series, that's not that big of a surprise either.

The characters interactions and writing were superb, and the humor was just fantastic. The jokes in previous installments had me going with a nice chuckle, but the gags in Owarimonogatari made me actually laugh out loud.

The story gets quite ... darker around this season, as I and other's have noticed. There's also a lot of character building for Araragi in Owari, which is nice seeing him be the focus once again.

Owarimonogatari is just truly amazing. From the much more mature tone of the story, to the compelling music, SHAFT and NisiOisiN have really put in their heart and soul into making this season stand out.

Tsukimonogatari is the "Beginning of the End" to Monogatari. :(

While a short season, it was very delectable. Finally our favorite walking corpse girl gets some much needed focus, and as per tradition, she sings her own opening, which is very reminiscent of the Portal songs, in my opinion.

This time of round, the story isn't at all hard to understand, and it's rather straightforward. We move backwards again in the timeline, just after Hitagi End from Second Season. Since this is the start of Final Season, it provides more insight into how Araragi developed to the person we see him as in Hanamonogatari.

To sum up, this ... 4 episode season was cute, short, and blunt. Just like Ononoki.

So this is where Monogatari turns from a supernatural detective show to a yuri sports romance. Just kidding.

Well, not entirely kidding. Hanamonogatari follows Kanburu Suruga in her senior year of high school, after all her friends graduated. The story covers how she adapts to being alone, being confused, and being doubtful, all parts of becoming an adult. It's very much a relatable story.

Not so much humor in this season, but the story is actually very insightful into the feelings of a character who hasn't shown up much recently, which is great.

All in all a nice short season.

Ten's across the board for this amazing season of Monogatari.

Covering 5 separate arcs that switch between summer and winter, Monogatari's story gets even more wild, with some of the most unexpected character development and world-building I've seen. If you didn't think NisiOisiN was a genius writer already, you damn well will after watching this season.

If I had to pick something in particular I liked about this season, it has to be the switch of narrators. Unlike the previous seasons, which had been told and narrated by Araragi, the first and last arcs of the season instead have Araragi barley show up, and is instead narrated ... and told from a different character's perspective, which was a nice breath of fresh air, even though he is very likeable.

Second Season changes up the formula in such a good way, and in the process, makes the series as a whole even more unique than it already was. While the previous season of Nisemonogatari was, in my opinion, pretty good, Second Season is simply amazing.

Nekomonogatari: Kuro, surprised me, especially after coming right off of Nisemonogatari.

Nekomonogatari takes place between the short time between Kizumonogatari and Bakemonogatari, and expands on the relationship between Hanekawa and Araragi. The storyline in this short season actually turned out to be one of the most mature coming-of-age stories I've seen, which was pleasantly surprising, especially coming from the previous season, which was more fun and lax in it's tone.

Now being a Kizu and Bakemonogatari Shill, I very much enjoyed this season's tone. The random walls of text are back and beautiful, and the music this time of round was very relaxing and contemplative.

Overall a great ... short season, and really only works if you've seen the previous adaptions in order.

Nisemonogatari was an interesting expanse into the world of Monogatari.

Unlike the previous entry, Bakemonogatari, which focused more on character history, interactions, etc., Nisemonogatari bases it's story heavily on the theme of Fakes, hence Nisemono, which is "a fake" in Japanese.

Although I did not enjoy it as much as I did Bakemonogatari, it is still a very good show. They still maintain the classic quirks as Bake in Nise, and the music is still consistently good. While the pace of the show can sort of drag, the buildup and execution of the last two episodes were amazing. (Especially after watching Kizumonogatari.)

The only discernible problem that I ... can pick on is the fanservice, which is already heavily criticized in this season by other reviewers, so I'm not going to elaborate my opinion on it.

Overall, Nisemonogatari is a very solid season, and it's worth a watch if Bakemonogatari hooked you in as much as it did me.

Kizumonogatari is, in short, "A story where no-one ends up happy.".

If you follow a Monogatari watch-guide, it'll tell you to either watch Kizumonogatari either after Bakemonogatari, the 1st season, or after Owarimonogatari, the 7th season. I personally chose the former, as this was the intended order for the story. And I do not regret that decision in any way.

Kizumonogatari, if I had to make an analogy, is the Cherry on top of an Ice-cream sundae, with that Ice-cream sundae being Bakemonogatari. There's just something about the grimness and style shown in Kizu, that just works so well in contrast to the dream-like, care-freeness of Bake. ... Kizu takes what little horror that was shown in Bake, and amplifies it by 100%, but still manages to retain the charm that Bake had. Kizu also answers the many questions I had after finishing Bake, and to top it off, beautifully wraps up the entire narrative of the story.

One of the best anime movies I've seen. Whether it's the stunning art, to the amazing music, the Kizumonogatari Trilogy is absolutely worth the praise it receives.

To be blunt, Bakemonogatari completely blew me away with its uniqueness as an anime adaption.

I watched the first episode months ago, as there were so many memes and high reviews of the show. Unfortunately at the time, it actually weirded me out to the point where I dropped it completely. But something about they color, the art, the music, and just how damn absurdly weird the visuals were drew me back months later.

Now after finishing it, I now realize just why this show receives so much praise. From the outstanding and pleasant music to some of the best character writing I've seen in a ... long time, Bakemonogatari is an instant classic for me. It's a perfect gateway into the highly acclaimed series, and I look forward to delving even further into it.

If you're having hesitations about watching Monogatari, take a deep breath, and just watch. You won't regret it.
