I will try not to compare robotics;notes to steins;gate because too much because steins;gate is without the doubt one of the best anime.
First off I'd like to point out that all the characters from robotics;notes are down right terrible, they are generic and boring and you wish they stop talking and making references to gundam that aren't even good.
The only redeeming factor robotics;note has is actually how cool Gunvarrel and Kill-Ballad is, sort of like a sub-plot of the anime but is often over-written by the terrible slow and boring pace of the story.

I will be quick and concise.
The setting for the story is unique, dark, and has not been done before, anime-wise. This can be hit or miss, but for Psycho Pass, it's passable, heh. The artwork is similar to Hitman Reborn since the character designs were done by the same person, overall this is great, some characters are really well done, others, kind of generic. The music is wonderful, there are suspenseful moments and the soundtrack hits it spot on. Opening and ending are also one of the bests this season. So what's wrong with it? If you've seen the trailer for SAO then you would see how awesome it looks and the virtual reality mmorpg idea just seems amazing and add on the plot of a death game, even better.
I can say for the majority of people that what they expected of SAO, was not what they got. To clear all 100 floors and free the players trapped in the game, sounds magnificent as you expect that's what it actually is, but it's not. If you are a fan or gundam seed or death note or both, I guarantee you would love this anime.
Story: At first I thought that this anime was going to be boring because of the first few minutes of the beginning. After watching the first episode I was really amazed that what happened.
