The story and characters are interesting, knowing that I enjoy playing the game.
However, the anime itself is horrible.
The animation overall and the animation of the characters in particular is more like a step motion animation: it's horrible.
The colours and overall quality are horrible, it seems as if this is a fan made anime to be honest and not even a student project.
The flow of the story also seems little bit rushed as if something is omitted alrhough honestly can't recall the story in the game very well.
This deserves to be remade hopefully ...but I can see it being adapted into a Korean
...

First episodes are recap of the original series in short form, the last 12 or so episodes are the real adaptation of the series.
I really wish they continued the series. My assumption because the first episodes were just remakes and people got bored, when it came for the new series the ratings were already so low. they should have just made the adaptation a different series with different name and OP/ED. The character designs are really well drawn, but so does the Get in the Tomorrow Playstation Game anime. The OP is still one of my favorites. I really wish now they use the same character designs ...

one of my favorite series ever
Watched season 1 and 2, didn't watch 3 as the first episode indicated to me it's more of a dragging of the series that has already ended in season 2. somehow, it makes me feel as of the Pokemon anime series is adapted from this series while it is marketed as an adventure, it is more of slice of life comedy series while fighting villains throughout the series, feels more of a game boy game to me If you like this, you would enjoy also goldfish warning, kodocha and the first fruits basket anime series. if you like the character designs of ...

Interesting production
The use of CG animation was interesting, but not very well done. The characters look fine, albeit I was hoping for more shading. Although the animation in general of objects and effects (e.g explosions) were quite ok, the characters animation definitely needed improvement as they looked like robots in some cases. Story wise I enjoyed it albeit the flow of the story was quite expected. Music was good and added value to the production. I would very much like to see more lupin and cats eye collaborative productions in the future, perhaps even with city hunter? It would be nice if it was more of a movie ... |
