Hope everything's okay!

Hi, I know I still haven't replied to all your comments, but the last few months have been really crazy for me (crazy meaning lots of things happening, and mostly bad things). And if that wasn't enough, my mom died at the beginning of this month.

So for now I kind of need a break from my "online life" and see how things work out from now on. I will probably get back to watching some anime eventually so I'll obviously still visit this site. See you around.

HxH isn't that bad. It took some getting used to bc it was a total 180 of what I was expecting, but supposedly it follows the manga. I had picked up the manga where the first anime left off so I didn't know what was filler or not.
SnS isn't as good as I remembered it to be. Back then it was one of the first anime I watched so it was all fresh, but not it just seems generic.

Naruto was a lot better while I was catching up, but now that I'm caught up and reading it weekly it's so slow. Random, but my space bar keeps sticking. Not cool computer, notcool. <---see.

It was bittersweet. I loved it, but I knew it would be gone by the next day, whichit pretty much was. I'm expecting a lot of snow this year, hopefully.

Welcome back. :P

This season I'm watching mostly sequels and a few new shows like Mirai Nikki and Working (well, the sequel is airing, but I decided to try the first season and it's funny). Judging from the first episode of Hunter x Hunter it's definitely not as good as the original. This one is so fast-paced and the animation is very bright. I always hate to admit that I enjoy HxH bc I think the author is disgusting for taking so many long breaks (I think it's so disrespectful to the fans), but it isn't a bad series. The other bad part about the breaks is that you forget what was going on by the time it returns (like now, I have no idea what's going on, but thankfully a new arc just started). Also looking forward to the last season of Shakugan no Shana. I'm re-watching it now since it's been 3 years since I've seen it (:O).

That show isn't too bad. I dislike the very shounen-ai/shoujo drawings, but the story is decent.

I understand, lol. I'm still re-watching the original Yugioh since they're still airing it on Saturday mornings. I miss it. I'm towards the end of the Battle City arc right now (Yugi just beat Kaiba). I wish they would have pulled a Pokemon and reused the same characters. Zexal is still decent. It's hard getting subs for it, though. I wish it would get licensed so it can get subbed regularly on Crunchyroll or something. Yeah, I did read that about 5D's. Good thing I watched the sub. :P

So much has changed since the last time we spoke. I undropped (yes, I just made that word up) Bleach & Naruto. Bleach just got out of fillers and the sub group I use for Naruto is behind, but that's also in fillers.

Not much. Hung around, slept in. The good stuff. :P I'm ready for winter, though, tbh. I'm ready for some snow.

IT'S OCTOBER... DUMBASS!!!

Wow... You replied... Again...

Man, I mess you and Logi... You two arses aren't on anymore... >_>
Grimmm Jun 16, 2011 8:23 AM
Haha, hey! That is one long post. xD

I only read the Yugioh portion so far so that's what I'll comment on. I agree, Zexal is trash. It also doesn't help that practically no one is subbing it so I'm stuck with LQ subs while watching it. It does feel like a re-hashing of the original YGO, but worse of course. None of the characters are interesting. The new Exceed summoning is pretty lame really. I mean they've really run out of ideas now because all of these new cards basically do the same thing as pre-existing cards. I won't drop it for my love of the game, but it definitely disappoints me. If they choose to dub it and it's bearable I'll probably watch that since these subs are so LQ.

Oh, and yeah I dropped Bleach (anime) a little while ago. With how the manga has been (snoozefest) I didn't feel like waiting for another boring filler arc to end just to see that animated.

I didn't really enjoy Wolverine tbh. X-Men is better, but I do agree that it is missing something.

I don't know if I should read the Naruto paragraph since I don't read or watch that anymore. xD *shrugs* Maybe I will read it and decide to catch up. Idk, though. :P

I ended up commenting on more than just the beginning, haha. Well have a good summer.

Well it looks like now it was my turn to get sick, and I've been so for the last week. I'm am feeling better now, just having a nasty cough and don't feel like spending a lot of time in front of the computer (I wouldn't be able to anyway). Of course this happened after spending a couple of days without my computer, since it was infected with some virus, and I had to re-install pretty much everything on it. So I'm a little behind on everything now. :P

Yeah, DBKai is supposed to be ending in a couple of episodes, and I'm a little disappointed they won't be doing the Buu Saga again. I wonder why, though. I mean, I realize they can just stop anywhere they want to (not that it would make sense, but they do have that "power"), but if they manage to fit all the sagas so far (with some scenes cut, like you mentioned, but still) into less than 100 episode, the Buu part wouldn't have taken too long to finish.
I think back then CN was more willing to show less edited cartoons since it was more of an all-ages animation channel. I'm more familiar with the UK CN (the "international" one that aired pretty much everywhere back in the 90s) which I have been watching until the European CN was launched. Only recently I found out the shows on CN (at least in the US) have those age-ratings on the screen when they're aired. The CNs I watched never had them, so I always thought it was an all-ages channel. :P And it would have made sense; not every cartoon has to have a rating (I never knew a "TV-Y7" rating existed). The only kids channel I get that has any age ratings is Animax, and that I understand. But for CN it wouldn't even make that much sense, with the shows they currently air (and there's no Adult Swim here so I guess they're playing it safe).

Lol, like I said I never really watched ThunderCats so I don't really have any idea what you're talking about. :P Since this looks more like an "origins" story, I guess they'r trying to introduce the show/characters to a new generation... which includes me as well. XD Oh yeah, Voltron should be cool. I'm not that surprised about CN not getting the show since lately it looks like they're only premiering only shows that are from Warner Bros./DC Comics or their own studios.
Speaking of which, Sym-Bionic Titan, is getting cancelled. It still has 2 episodes to air, but they moved it out of prime-time to Saturday mornings, without much promotion, and absolutely no re-runs during the rest of the week. I just hope it gives some sort of closure to the season (since i doubt they knew ahead of time and decided to make it only one season long). But the reason as to why it's getting cancelled bothers me the most: not because of ratings (apparently they were better than most of their other shows), but because the merchandise didn't sell good enough. The weird part is though, after doing some research and reading on forums what other angry fans had to say, there actually wasn't any merchandise for this show to begin with. Seriously, why wouldn't there be a toy-line for a giant robot show? I'm sure if a toy company would have released a toy line based on this show, kids would have bought them (you know robots are popular :P).
But there are also some good news, like CN announcing the launch of a DC Nation block for 2011-2012, which will air nothing but shows based on DC Comics characters (so far only Batman: Brave & Bold, Green Lantern TAS and Young Justice have been mentioned). And YJ will be in re-runs for a while, until more episodes are completed. But the show has been picked up for a second season, but only 10 episodes long (though the producers hope they'll get more episodes after that). And the title in the 2nd season will be changed to YJ: Invasion.
As for Marvel, new episodes of Avengers: EMH will start in May (not sure about the exact date), but they're using it to cross-promote the live-action Thor movie that comes out the same month. But the 7 final episodes of season 1 (meaning the ones that haven't aired in the US yet) will air daily, for one week in Australia first, starting April 4. So I'm pretty sure the episodes will be leaked online someway and people will be able to watch them. :P And it looks like we will be getting a second season of Iron Man: Armored Adventures this summer.

I re-watched all the Pirates of Dark Water episodes sometime last year, and remembered how much I liked this show when I was younger. Apparently it was too expensive at the time to produce the episodes, and that is why it was cancelled. I would love to see anything new from this show, be it a sequel, a re-make or even only a handful of episodes to finish the storyline they started. XD
A new Jonny Quest series would be cool as well (don't know if you ever watched/liked the show), and obviously I would be looking forward to an animated series, if it ever gets done, rather than to that upcoming live-action Jonny Quest movie announced a few years ago. Sad thing is, that movie has a better chance of being released than a new animated show.
And then there's the SWAT Kats (which I always liked more than ThunderCats :P). I doubt they would ever re-make that show but it would have been pretty cool.

Yeah, that's probably why "Hollywood blockbusters' based on anime series are so successful. Dragon Ball Evolution would be the first title that I can think of, but I never watched it (and I don't intend to either). But now, they're planning a live-action movie based on Akira. I'm sure they can't mess this up. :P
Speaking of things getting lost in translation, check out the evil Turkish Spider-man versus Turkish Captain America and Santo. LOL I wasn't able to find a full, translated version of this movie (which is probably for the better). Well it wasn't an official Spidey movie (you can probably tell Marvel wasn't involved in the production of the film :P), but still I don't get how exactly they figured Spidey would be the evil one.

Yeah, I saw that trailer and i agree it looks pretty cool. Though I'm still not sure if this is supposed to be a prequel to the previous 3 movies (4 if you count Wolverine) or a reboot for future X-Men related films. I'm still looking forward to it, and any other upcoming superhero movies from either Marvel or DC. :P

Edit: Lol, sorry, I didn't think my reply would be this long. :P
Grimmm Mar 28, 2011 12:28 PM
At least you're looking forward to it. :P

Hmmm, well I don't really watch a lot. I mean I try and stay updated on the current shows but a few weeks ago I was behind on a ton, but I'm all caught up now.

I would love that. ^_^ I wouldn't even mind that either.

I'm not into soccer or football...I prefer basketball and baseball. I totally forgot to check when that show is on, though. Maybe I won't bother with it. *shrugs*

Lol, it's pretty weird. I don't like where it's been going at all and I hope it gets better soon.

Funny because now Fairy Tail is in a short filler arc. I think it's been going on for 3 episodes and I think it should end with today's episode.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I see it as a burden to catch up. xD

Yeah, I can't wait. I still haven't watched Iron Man 2 yet. I really need to get on that. I'll re-watch the first one first of course.

It makes me think of Bakugan too (not that I've seen that show, but the character designs look similar). Lol that's EXACTLY where I am right now. They're reairing the original on TV and I caught it from the beginning of Yami Bakura vs. Yugi so I just have a few more episodes to go before I'll be watching it weekly on TV. I don't approve of this 5D's ending, though. It isn't epic. I never liked Jack and we've seen Yusei duel too much. If they needed to duel I would have preferred an epic 5 episode battle royale with all the signers...even instead of that lame final villain vs Yusei duel. Those time god things were so lame.

I haven't seen that, but that reminds me about how they're making so many super hero movies...Thor, Green Latern, and one more I can't think of I believe. I think I saw the commercial during the superbowl. =/
Grimmm Feb 28, 2011 8:39 PM
Guess you didn't see the anime list for it then bc it says it ends at ep 154. :P Yeah, I know. I'm not judging yet since I didn't understand Synchro Summoning at first either and now it's so easy. They should just skip the new series and gimme a spin off with Mai and Aki. xD

Lol. I've been into basketball this season so watching games takes up my time that I would normally use to watch other things before bed. I'll check when it's on again.

That and the fact that Kubo prolly couldn't come up with a good bankai. :P Maybe that's why it's boring too...no Renji and them, true. I guess this means Grimmjow is dead. Hahah, I just thought of that now. :( Oh well.

Surprisingly enough Fairy Tail hasn't gone off course from the manga. I think we've had 1 (maybe 2) filler episode and they're consistently 1 full arc behind the manga.

I know...idk why I didn't do that awhile ago. Yep, that's what I was talking about. Defense Devil is pretty cool. I'm enjoying it. When I got the feeling that Naruto wasn't ending soon I said forget it. That was one I didn't wanna drop bc I spent so much time on it, but whatever.

Have you seen the trailer for X-Men yet? I just saw the clip and it looks pretty cool.
ManCalledLogi Feb 28, 2011 2:52 AM
Well I'm sure that series was supposed to be mostly made-up, nothing canon to the comics. But it would have been fun, like a X-Men Evolution (the high school setting I mean) series featuring a young Bruce Wayne and other characters/villains.

Yeah, Dragon Ball Kai isn't as great as DBZ was but it's not too bad. I agree there are moments where it feels kind of rushed. I understand they're trying to cut out the filler parts but lately they let most filler scenes intact and just cut some scenes that make it less dramatic, as you said. I'm only watching the subbed version (and I can't remember every line from the original dub :P), so it's not so bad. Of course it's also the fact that now I know everything that is about to happen before it actually happens, while the first time I watched DBZ I was surprised every time a new saga started. :P

Speaking of remakes (though from what I read online this more supposed to be a prequel series, but not entirely connected to the older series, so I have no idea what to call it XD), there's going to be a new ThunderCats series starting on Cartoon Network this summer (I think I mentioned this show before, but now there's more info on it). The same as with G.I. Joe, I never really watched the old series, but this one looks pretty cool. Don't know if you saw it yet but here's the trailer for it.
If only they would continue or remake an older series I actually watched, like Pirates of Dark Water or SWAT Kats. :P

And here's the trailer for the X-Men anime series that will start this spring. It looks better than the current Wolverine series, which in turn seems better than the first Iron Man anime. :P
