I can make a whole bunch of different branches as to what makes Anne so great but the one that struck me the most is realism. At its heart it's a coming-of-age story, what differs it from the rest is how immersive it is due to the subtle naturalism and incredible use of progression. The series spans many years of Anne's life over 50 episodes and the way it changes subject matter over time is to die for. Anne's character herself goes through much change, rather delicately, but you get to see every bit of the journey. It's a kids show but I almost always recommend it to adults and the like as a key part of the show is feeling the nostalgia right after finishing it, it captures childhood miraculously, 50 episodes felt like an eternity, I felt like my own life died at the end. It's not an overly complex narrative, it's a rather simple coming-of-age but the execution is fantastic. I really hope you get to experience what we did, I can't recommend it enough :).
Nice! Aria is something else, beauty at its finest. Was Akari your favourite Undine?

So you're watching Gintama that's great.
Well let me give you an advice.
Just for the information.
The first Episodes and the following first Episodes can be quite average.
I know that it can be for many people. So maybe for you as well.
But it will improve a lot afterwards.
So I hope you will keep on watching Gintama.
