Oh yeah I need to watch NANA. I heard it was similar to Honey and Clover which was really nice but had a disappointing ending.
Character based shows I'd recommend would be Baccano! or Toradora! which are truly amazing. Also The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is also fantastic. Respectively the genres are Thriller, Romance, and Slice of Life. Baccano! has a deep intricate story that has one of the best endings in anime to date, ToraDora! is a really great pretty realistic romance, and Haruhi is about a girl who IS God. All 10/10
Also Rozen Maiden is really great for it's characters too, and it has a really big fan base (although not "mainstream" like Death Note or Code Geass), but as I mentioned the ending is NOT an ending. I'd recommend it nonetheless - it's a supernatural drama romance about dolls.

Ah I see. Have you ever seen Rozen Maiden? I felt the same way. If they had finished the 'alternate' storyline the anime introduced I think it might have been better than the manga, but alas, they did not. They just left the second season with a MASSIVE cliffhanger. A remake faithful to the original content would be nice.
So, have you seen anything interesting lately?

Alright so I've started Kuroshitsuji (without reading the manga) and I think it's pretty awesome. I'll definitely give the manga a read when I finish. As you've said, a fair amount of the anime so far seems to be filler in which it doesn't touch up on the main characters too much, but we have a second season coming soon so hopefully that will improve on season one. Nonetheless, season one so far is probably one of the most enjoyable series I've seen in a while.
Does manga seem to have any chance of ending soon? I'd like a series that finishes the same way as the manga and to do that the manga has to be done :D

I see you also like Monster. Another awesome anime. And have you seen kuroshitsuji? I'm going to watch it soon but I don't know how good it is. It looks fabulous~ I ask because I saw Sebastian as one of your favorite characters.

It's a little dull for the first 20 episodes but as soon as Kircheis... It gets so much better. The moving fortress made me point at the screen, I mean, it was so awesome.

Haha yeah. I'm still deciding to watch the prequel OVA's though. They have a slightly different animation style, which is fine but I liked the first one.
My friends don't want to watch it because they don't like the art style, which I think is plain ridiculous. They'll watch Gundam from '79 and Evangelion from '95 but not LOGH from '88.

Haha thanks. I just finished the series a few minutes ago. Honestly one of the best anime I have ever seen. It really made me ponder, well, everything. The cyclic ending was also fantastic.
Glad to see there's another fan out their.
