I'm an engineer man. I can make things work and make cool applications, but I can't design to save my life. My mind just doesn't work well enough in that way haha. Like I know HTML and CSS and Javascript and all these other languages, but I can't even think of a cool way to design my animelist haha.

Play Bravely Default. It gets super repetitive during the middle of the game, but the beginning and end are awesome. My favorite game that I've played since FE13. Haha yeah I usually don't watch them either, but Paulina (idk if you remember her from SF) showed me a trailer on skype and it looked amazing.

While they're not my favorites of the season (that goes to Jojo, Yahari, UBW, and Ace of the diamond (obviously because I <3 baseball), Assassination Classroom and Arslan Senki would be easy to pick up and are pretty entertaining. AC is a school-setting slice of life comedy with a twist; the professor is a really interesting character and the main student characters are cool too. Arslan Senki is kinda like Magi but no magic. It's an old school story of a boy becoming a man set in a stone-age era in the desert. It has potential.

Kekkai Sensen and Seraph of the End are two completely different vampire anime and are entertaining in different ways. Kekkai Sensen is fun but doesn't make any sense at the moment. It would honestly fail if the setting and action weren't cool. Seraph of the End is pretty cliche and what you expect, which isn't bad nor great.

I actually like Food Wars and Yamada but the former is kinda unnecessarily ecchi (a little worse than NGNL) and Yamada's premise is the MC can do supernatural things when he kisses someone, so I don't think you'd be interested.

Hope that helps entertain you for a while!

I think you just need a passport in general. I'm not too knowledgeable about how the international laws work lol.

Yeah man it's pretty fun. The company gives good benefits to its employees as well. And I like what I'm doing. I'm not too good with aesthetics but I'm good at writing scripts or programs that just do stuff. Like I can make a website with lots of cool features, but I'm not good at making it look pretty.

Oh what game are you playing on your 3DS? If you haven't yet, play Bravely Default. One of my favorite games I've played recently. And have you seen the trailers for the new FE? It looks so awesome.

I'm watching a ton of random anime this season. I dropped Nagato Yuki-chan. It seemed really boring the first episode. Maybe I'm not good with spin-offs lol. This looks like a pretty decent season though.

Well visas are just for if you're gonna work/study in a different country. Passports are just for visits and stuff.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for man. But atm I'd like to stay there. I really like my team and what I do so far. Plus it's cool that they trust me to help with a ton of important projects.

Haha nice man. I've been playing a little DBZ Xenoverse and watching some anime here and there, but my life lately has mostly been work and school. It's tiring haha.
OGHelios Mar 28, 2015 8:19 PM
Yeah man I'd be down! Just gotta get my passport haha.

Yeah I had an internship at a small company as well, and the boss would take me and the other interns out for lunch once a week. It was the same as with you, where I got entrusted with some important projects, and I learned a lot about how to write and organize code. I think your experience was cooler though haha.

Man take a break and relax! You finally have some time to watch anime and play VNs :P.
OGHelios Mar 22, 2015 5:35 PM
I don't blame you man that's awesome. Great work!

Well it's 5 hours specifically from where i live. More like 2 or 3 hours from the US border itself. Waterloo is one of the best universities in Canada. Definitely an accomplishment worth being proud of!

Ah yeah I could see that. Glad you got SOMETHING though. Some experience in the real world business isn't something that can be taught in a classroom. I honestly feel like I've learned so much more at my internships (this is technically my second one) than I ever did at school. It's a LOT of hard work, and I've had to work way above my scheduled hours the last two weeks, but alhamdulillah man it's a great feeling when your hard work pays off. I've done stuff that affects the whole global corporation and it's an awesome feeling. Really boosts up my self-confidence.

Thanks man I'm doing the same for you! Keep in touch man.
OGHelios Mar 15, 2015 9:53 AM
Alhamdulillah man. I'm really happy for you. Glad some of my duaa for you was answered haha.

YOU'RE GOING TO LIVE IN CANADA?!?! You know Waterloo is like, 5 hours away from where I live right? So one of these days we might actually get to meet up and hang out. That's awesome man. Waterloo is up there with the University of Toronto, McGill, and other good schools. Congrats man I'm happy for you. InshAllah the finer details get worked out and you being a student there is a reality.

An internship is required for my degree, but the school doesn't really hand one to you. They have a career fair and a class to try and help you prepare for one, but landing the interviews, getting them, etc is all on you. Alhamdulillah I got an internship with the biggest corporation in the city, and one of the largest corporations in the country. It's been a great experience so far, and I'm already solidifying my status as an integral member of the team. I've been really busy lately because of that as well as all my classes, but I'm just trying to do my best (so please make duaa for me :D). I'll try and come on skype some time so we can talk some more!

^_^// Hellu, stranger, would you like to join a club we just created for Malaysians?
OGHelios Feb 27, 2015 1:03 PM
Oh very nice. I'm glad you managed to finish these four years and still live haha. What are you trying to get your Masters in?

I'm good alhamdulillah. I got an internship at a pretty big corporation (reason why I work with some guys from KL) and I'm just soaking up the experience. It's been great so far.
OGHelios Feb 22, 2015 7:24 PM
Salam. I'm working with some guys from Kuala Lampour so it reminded me that I should stop by and say hi!
OGHelios Nov 22, 2014 11:40 PM
Pretty much. Coming in we know a bit about MIPS (type of assembly language) and about how combinatorial logic, but otherwise that's really it. Even then, I wasn't taught THAT stuff very well by my previous professor either. Nah we use the Patterson/Hennessy book. And yeah I know OS kinda dips into the same stuff, but I heard it's a bit easier lol. I'll figure it out next fall I guess. Next semester it's all data comm and programming classes!

Well the way it works for us is the class as a whole picks a bunch of topics. Then you write on a notecard which ones you're interested in (in order), and groups are made that way. So we're hoping that if we all pick the same stuff in the same order, that we get hooked up haha.

Yeah Jibril, while being an awesome character, was NSFW from time to time haha. But it's "healthy" hahaha. I'll check out Prism Ilya sometime. like you, it's in my too long backlog lol.

Ehh it's a lot more than that. The plot honestly shouldn't have ever progressed the way it did, and the characters shouldn't have been in half the messes they were in. I'm not as bad as some viewers, who think it's a plothole that Yukki even loves Yuno to begin with (that's just silly), but I do agree there are some things that could be better. Idk man, people complain that Code Geass has too many plotholes and that it's a glorious trainwreck, which I don't really see. And yeah, the first half of Mirai Nikki was awesome. It's probably why I keep it rated so high.

Ameen.
OGHelios Nov 18, 2014 11:58 AM
It just feels like the stuff we talk about in class doesn't relate at all to what we do in lab or on the hw, and nothing compares to the exams. The professor really knows his stuff and he knows how to answer questions and explain the subjects, but I'm so lost half the time I don't even know what to ask! It's the first time I've ever taken a class where I'm happy as long as I don't fail haha. Yeah I plan on hopefully acing Data Comm and OS to try and boost my GPA up if I don't do too well in this class. I have a B right now but I'm pretty sure I have a C test average so that won't be a B for too long lol.

Well a friend of mine who I plan on working with for our capstone already has a game practically done. We're just hoping that we get put in the same group so we can just add some stuff to it and call it good. If not, well I'm sure I'll think of something fun to do. It doesn't have to be a game like FE :P.

Is it more than lolis being cute? Hahaha it's honestly not that bad (NGNL) for one of those types of shows. I expected a lot worse going in, to the point that I wouldn't be able to watch it. Maybe because I expected it to be pretty ecchi it didn't bother me? It was actually my brother who was like "yo there isn't too much fanservice in this".

Just a lot of unanswered questions, inconsistent characters, strange plot developments, and stupid character decisions. You just notice these things more the second time through. It doesn't really take away too much for the enjoyment of the show as long as you're not focusing on those aspects.
Oh yeah you're right, I was getting goosebumps every time I remembered an awesome scene (especially whenever Akise (my favorite character) figured something out). I feel like some stuff in the plot was rushed, and I'm not sure if it's because of edits the bluray version made or what, but I remember the show describing things better the first time I saw it. Idk tho.

I recommend it. It's fun.

Well it helps if things happen the way you want them to, but sometimes what you want isn't what's best for you.
OGHelios Nov 17, 2014 9:29 PM
Sorta? The CE guys think it's hard but not as hard as some of their engineering classes they take (like embedded systems), but for CS guys, who mostly focus on software, doing things at a hardware level is more challenging for us because we don't really think about things that way. Does that make sense? And nah OS is a different class that I'm taking in my last semester. I'm taking data communications next semester though which will also be tough. Yeah we gotta do a final capstone type thing, but I don't think I'll do that with the internship. It'll probably be a game or something.

I've seen all those except Ilya, which didn't really appeal to me I'm not gonna lie. NGNL is pretty good and honestly it's not THAT bad to watch. I watched a couple episodes with one of my little bros (he's 17).

Lol why not? Redial's end is the same as the normal ending of Mirai Nikki, at least in the blurays. All Redial does in that case is just give you the backstory on how it got to that point. I'm honestly not that much of a fan of the end in general since a ton of plotholes are created cuz of it. Plus I feel like, while Mirai Nikki is pretty fun to rewatch, what made it fun for me when I first saw it was all the plot twists. You don't really get that feeling rewatching it.

Some of the anime that are coming out this season are pretty cool. Akame ga Kill is definitely the best one coming out right now, but it started last season.

That's the spirit. Do your best, let Allah do the rest. That's the motto to live by man.
OGHelios Nov 16, 2014 4:40 PM
Well I'm used to working while going to school, and I work a lot less hours lately compared to what I did last year, so it's not that bad. Computer architecture is a really difficult class though; arguably the most difficult class of the major. It's comparable with the difficult engineering classes here. And yeah the full-time positions are for the summer. They're required for our degree. I'm hoping for a part-time internship during the winter and then that'll become full-time over the summer, then part-time over the winter, then get officially hired in when I graduate. We'll see though. And yeah, it's mostly about your personality and work ethic, but it helps to have an idea of what to do.

Well an irl friend of mine told me to watch it, and I'm kinda running on blanks when it comes to shows I can watch with my brothers, so Log Horizon it is. Maybe I'll watch Space Dandy with them too we'll see.

Other then it's ending it was fantastic. Ending was meh. It's still fun to rewatch it though. I'd suggest it when you find time. Haha it's not like I have time either though. It took us like a month to finish it and it's only 26 episodes!

Yeah but it doesn't matter to me since it's not like I really have time to watch a ton of anime right now. So when it comes out I just watch it with one of my little bros who saw F/Z and it's fun.

Well just make duaa and finish strong. You'll be alright man. Then you'll get to chill.
OGHelios Nov 10, 2014 3:38 PM
I miss you buddy :D.
I know the feeling. I've still got 2 more semesters to go, but I'm taking some of my hardest classes right now along with a part-time job/internship as a software developer. Plus I have had a bunch of interviews for full-time internships lately. I have one Wednesday and I have to show them a (mobile) app I've made. My app is horrible but I hope I can show them at least that I know how to code haha.
Nice. I actually plan on watching that show with my little brothers, after we (one day) finish re-watching Mirai Nikki. One of my brothers never saw it before so my other brother and I thought it would be fun to re-watch it with him.
I've been watching F/SN whenever UTW puts out subs, which is pretty infrequent. I'd probably be more annoyed by that if I had more time to watch anime lol.
How's life otherwise?
