This is my personal favorite Christmas movie, I watch it every year as a tradition now! This is just more Initial D, if you like that, then definitely watch it! The races are great, and have the same Initial D flair as always! The art style and animation are obviously a bit outdated, but I personally like it. I think it makes it more charming. I personally feel that Initial Ds characters seem boring to a lot of people because they're realistic. Normally they just go about their usual lives, and Takumi occasionally gets involved with a new street racer that challenges him. You don't ... see the side characters as much in this movie, but they're still present.

Don't get me wrong, this Anime is bad, but it also has this sadistic charm that just makes you laugh out loud while watching it. Most of the deaths are either bland and forgettable, or so laughably over the top or ridiculous that it can become somewhat enjoyable. The English dub also helps a bit with the humor, since the VAs could obviously tell the script was ridiculous and went with more campy performances. Especially Natsuko's English VA, I can tell she had a blast with it. There's also the fact that some of the "plot twists" or reveals are so poorly foreshadowed that they're ... incredibly obvious so it made it a bit fun in that regard to see how many things I could predict would happen while watching. The one thing I think this Anime does well, is that twist at the end. Forcing the winner to either kill themselves or infect other people with the "virus". (the story conflates biological viruses and computer viruses, which makes it incredibly stupid unfortunately) I'm glad they don't try to come up with some BS for the MC to save the day at the end like you would expect. If you like dissecting stories and laughing at absurd scenarios that have no sense existing, then give this one a shot, if you go into this with the right expectations it can be enjoyable. Otherwise give it a skip.
