You're quite the dedicated anime fan if you keep marathoning movies till 3 am in the morning. Perhaps the story was too hard to understand because of fatigue/sleepiness, so it was difficult to put all the pieces of the puzzle together? Not trying to judge you or anything, but there is only SO much information your brain is able to process at such a late time. :p
Hmm, now that you mentioned staying up late, there is actually a point in time when you across a certain "fatigue threshold" and you won't feel tired anymore if you stay up long enough. To me that's like 3:30 am... not that I TRY to stay up that late haha, but I noticed that a few times when I didn't feel like going to sleep.
Yeah Aoi Bungaku was a really solid short story series. Madhouse did an outstanding job of translating those old masterpiece stories in a mature and realistic way to the anime medium. No "moe" bullshit looking characters but genuine and honest looking characters with personalities you can relate to. I even felt sorry for the evil protagonist of "The Spider's Thread" story after he got confronted with Hell itself. Remarkable executed storytelling if I do say so myself.
Psychological and thriller anime are nice, but horror is the genre I prefer above all. The kind of series I like the most are the ones where the characters are haunted by any kind of demon or demon possessed individuals. Also series where the story revolves around unexplained/unidentified entities terrorizing the MC's is something I can greatly appreciate. Basically I want it to feel really dark, ominous and to give me goosebumps to the bone. Whenever I talk with someone about my anime tastes, I bring up this trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9x6LZ9YIo8 I want it to feel like THAT. terrifying to the point that you won't be able to click away or close the show anymore because your body is frozen in fear.

I feel like you have to have a certain personality to really appreciate the marvelous world of horror. Involving yourself into this realm isn't for the weak. It's for the ones who persevere.
*facepalm* Why didn't I think of youtube? Wow I feel stupid now. When I searched for it in google I only got results for SITcom television shows. I had to mess around with the search criteria a crap ton before I finally found it on some sketchy russian "anime"-site and was presented with a crapload of failure haha.
True... if you think about it, there really isn't anything to rate. It has NO animation, NO character development, 0.0000001% story... Hell, this garbage makes Mars of Destruction look like Cowboy Bepop in a way.
Also saw you had Perfect Blue as your favorite anime, a horror/thriller type movie. I'm all for horror type series, so maybe I'll check out that movie later this week. Looks promising. :)

I had more trouble actually finding the damn video rather than watching it. But I can say that that the scenes from that video are burned into my memory. In a bad way.

Well not really since I already knew before Pocky said anything about it. I heard things about it on the forum and so on. No one explicitly spoiled anything. But it's hard to talk about School Days without suggesting something about the ending.
I didn't really like it. It's probably one of the most realistic harems in anime I've seen though :P
It didn't help that the end was partially spoiled for me. I didn't knew what was going to happen exactly but I already knew it had a shocking bloody ending.
Talking about your favourites, I'm probably going to watch Perfect Blue sometime soon-ish.
hmm last season had a few good contributions but they are generally the ones spilling over to this season as well. If there is 1 diamond in the rough this season tho i will be happy, for once im actually a little happy i got a little more free time. when i get sucked into good shows i always drop everything to watch them lol
