Technische informatica, damn, I wouldn't be able to do that in a thousand years hahah XD I'm only good at beta subjects like history, geography and languages. So you're a real alpha guy when it comes to school subjects :D

That's pretty cool that you're able to study for half a year in Japan. I'm going to do the excact same thing with my teacher education. I'm doing my teacher education completely in English so they basically force you(yes, they really force you, you have no choice hahah XD) to go abroad. Well, you can guess where I'm going to: Japan! If I'm lucky I'll be able to get a job at my intern school in Japan so that in 2 / 3 years I can start there as a real teacher.

4000 words!!!! noooooooooooooooooooo! I know the feeling... I really recommend memrise, it's a lot more fun than anki will ever be. I found out about memrise when I started working on the Genki books. After I finished them it turns out memrise has tons of other courses that match other books I'm using, so I just kept on using it.

Anki? Yeah I use it sometimes. I do prefer Memrise though since it takes less work and it's more fun since it has multiple ways of learning.

If you want to study Japanese than definitely go to Leiden! I'm planning on following Japanese history and language courses in Leiden after I finish the book I'm working with right now. They're really good when it comes to learning Japanese. I'm taking my state exams there too.
I wish I could study Japanese after my HBO too! But I'm moving to Japan in 2 or 3 years after I finish my HBO so I have to do it while I'm also doing my HBO, which is pretty tough XD I'm studying to become a History and English teacher by the way. And since Japan is in need for teachers who speak English like a native I'm moving to Japan since there are so many job opportunities there being a (English)teacher.

How far am I? Well, I know basic Japanese and am now studying books for intermediary level. I enlisted myself for the state exams to do JLPT N5. But I think I'm going to write that university an email to change that to JLPT N4 since I think I'm ready to do JLPT N4 if I study hard enough. I got untill May, so that's plenty of time!

Anyway, how far are you in your studies? Did you take state exams yet? If so, could you tell me more about them? What they look like?

Do you have a japanese teacher or study all by yourself? I'm studying by myself right know. When I finish all the books I can find I'm planning on finding a teacher. Either that, or if the material is getting too difficult and I need someone else to explain it for me hahaha XD
