Have you read the manga? Its quite a darker and the girl is a lot different compared to how she is in the anime.

Satou is surely one of the more relatable character's in anime, do you know anyone other characters like him? I've been searching for more psychological shows but I've seem quite a lot.

Yeah I can really see the connection between the two. The only difference is TTG took a more light hearted approach to it than NHK

What really helped me relate to Watashi was the people he interacted with throughout the show. In our lifetime we are all going to meet some like Ozu who leads us astray at times yet for the better.

I agree with the understanding Ichisei to understand Technolyze. It's the same way I feel with the character Watashi from The Tatami Galaxy. He isn't so much a person as the embodiment of the experiences of someone going through life. You root for Watashi like you would want to root for yourself.

I tend to like characters that aren't just there to provide escapism which is probably why I liked Technolyze so much.

As for weak characters I'd say Shinji Ikari (one of my favorite characters in anime) is a good example. He's weak but strong. By the half way point Shinji has become a much more capable character but he still has his moments where he slips back into depression. Ah I applies for going off topic with my talk about NGE. It's just a favorite of mine.

That's the key to most psychological works. To understand the characters.

I definitley see where you are coming from. Perhaps I should pick it up again. I had only watched the first and second seasons.

I see you have Technolyze as one of your favorite. What did you think of the main character Ichisei? I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Hm I'd have to say Baccano!
The characters had my eyes glued to the screen where as with Durarara the only parts that I was really interested in were the interactions between Izaya and Shizuo. Quite a lot of the cast is forgettable where as the characters from Baccano have stayed with me.
What about you?

I like sci fi and psychological.Slice of life never really interested me as I think they are pointless.

Well you seem to have a great taste. :)
