I liked your "The Ravages of Time" review, it was short but effective, you've convinced to give it a try.
-Lighto- Jun 22, 2012 4:27 PM
you're right about Ma Chao they made him so weak in Warriors Orochi 3
haha I hate to play with women too they have silly attacks, as for DW7 it's a really good game but I couldn't finish the whole map, it takes a lot of time to do it alone and the games becomes 200% more fun when you play with someone and I honestly had no one to play with for the last half year all because of studying, infact I haven't watched anime for the past one year after some Bleach arc finished (I don't wanna spoil it for you I'm not sure where you at in Bleach) anyways, now that I'm finally on vacation I'll do my best to make for all the anime I missed (I usually prefer to watch finished anime) now I'm taking on long-sereis like Yu Yu Hakusho for now..
BTW hard luck for today's match you guys played really well.
-Lighto- Jun 20, 2012 7:53 PM
oh man same here I played all games since I was a kid first one was Dynasty Warriors 2 and then from Warriors Orochi, Samurai Warriors and recently The Gundam sereis it all began when I was six years old when I came back from school and the old Three kindoms anime was on Tv the killing the blood the sacrificing powerful warriors and till this day I'm still eager for any new game release. I just beat Warriors Orochi 3! who's your favorite warrior in the game?
-Lighto- Jun 18, 2012 9:34 PM
man you seem to be so crazy about three kingdoms, do you play Dynasty Warriors games?
Allecto Jun 16, 2012 4:43 PM
Yup, his boyfriend. 'Course it wouldn't have made a difference if it was anyone else calling him, but being taught by a gay and rather flamboyant guitar teacher was quite an experience lol.

Hmm, I shall give Cesare a go at some point then. All I know about the Borjas comes from the recent TV series "The Borjas" ...which is probably very inaccurate in terms of history but still very entertaining.

Aoi Bungaku... Well, you see, when I put something in the "Dropped" list, it can either mean that I hated it and wouldn't ever expose my beloved eyes to it ever again, or it can mean I just happened to not be in the right mood to watch it and that the anime will eventually get moved to the "On-Hold" list. The latter is true about Aoi Bungaku. I'd just finished watching Mononoke and the Ayakahi: Japanese Classic Horror series, and I think I just got temporarily bored of the genre. Eventually I'll probably in the mood again to watch some more psychological horror stuff :) The series is rated highly, and if you count it as your favourite anime then I'm sure it must be good stuff.

Your entries in both "Dropped" lists are so few! Are you especially picky with what you choose to watch/read, or are you the type who doesn't like to leave things unfinished?
Allecto Jun 12, 2012 2:46 PM
(sorry for the late reply, been busy lately)
I only had lessons til I was 15. They got too expensive and I didn't like my teacher very much, he'd waste at least 10 minutes of every lesson chatting to his boyfriend on the phone *silently rages*

How've you been? :) I notice you're Cesare, any good? Its been in my plan-to-read list for ages, but I never seem to get round to it...
Allecto Jun 5, 2012 4:36 PM
Well it was a very informative and well-written review, so respect to you, good sir :)
I'm actually very busy these days, drowning in work at university, but I plan on reading some really big epic series in September when I finish my degree, The Ravages of Time being towards the top of my to-read list. The art looks incredible, and I love complex plots (though The Ravages of Time looks particularly complicated, so no doubt I shall probably ask you for clarification), so it looks like something I'll really enjoy.

You know, I've been playing guitar since I was 10 and I'm 22 now,yet the main reason I still play is that its very good at relieving stress, so I totally get what you mean. I don't mind telling people I play guitar, but I don't really like playing in front of people... makes me feel like a performing monkey lol. But I get a lot of satisfaction from practising a complex piece for weeks on end and eventually being able to master it. Do you get lessons or are you teaching yourself?

Hey there :) Just read your review for The Ravages of Time and you've convinced me to give it a shot at some point. Its great to see someone else who appreciates historical anime and manga.

Oh and high five for you being an electric guitarist. I'm more into playing acoustic stuff, but I'm also a guitarist. How long have you been playing?

I prefer the agile characters, faster moves just seems more fun to me, that's why I like to use characters like; Ling Tong, Lu Xun. etc. (Unless, the battle requires strength, then I use the bulky characters) Yes, Ma Chao was probably the best in 5, but I think Zhou Tai and Xiahou Dun would be a close second.

Well, I guess arrogant people are harder to trust. Even though he was loyal to Liu Bei, it did not mean he was going to be loyal to Zhuge Liang.

Yeah I guess it's fair to say Liu Bei was bisexual.
You make a good point, I never though about Cao Cao's and Dian Wei's relationship until now.
Mikuza Sep 29, 2011 7:24 AM
Then that's one difference that we have; you like bulky characters, where I mostly like characters that can run at a normal or quick speed. (Since I don't like riding horses, although I do like using Zhang Liao) That's why the character I hate using is Xu Zhu.

Well, I wouldn't say Wei Yan deserved it, but he was very arrogant. (and some believe he was also very violent)
Ahh good choices, my top 3 favourite strategists are; Sima Yi, Guo Jia and Jia Xu in that order.
That's what makes Sima Yi so interesting to me. Yes, he does seem so, especially with his "favourite" Ma Su. I also think Liu Bei and Zhao Yun might have been -- since they shared a bed a few times. "Zhao Yun had a close friendship with Liu Bei, as they shared the same bed while they were living in Ye then."
Mikuza Sep 28, 2011 12:16 PM
I also have good memories of playing 5, I used to use Ling Tong all the time.
I'll fix my PS3 eventually.

Exactly, I hate it that Cao Cao is seen as the villain, but it probably is this way in the novel too, because of what I said about Guanzhong, he had to make it seem Shu was the best of the 3 and that Liu Bei was the best ruler. You're right, but I guess no one back then would have wanted to surrender to Cao Cao because of honour and stuff.
Cao Cao did not execute his officers for ridiculous reasons <-- this sows who the better ruler was.
Which strategist from the Three Kingdoms period do you like the most? I guess it would have to be Zhuge Liang, due to your MSN, lol.
All I know is that, If I was alive back then, I would join Wei's side, and then later on, defect from Wei to join the Sima family.
My favourite character in DW5 is; Ling Tong and Sima Yi. And in DW7; Sima Yi, Sima Shi and Wang Yuan Ji.
It's funny how Ma Chao in DW talks only about "justice"
Mikuza Sep 27, 2011 10:32 AM
I prefer 7 to 5 just because of conquest mode, I almost completed that before my PS3 got corrupt. I hear that there's a new fire emblem game coming out for the 3DS.
Well, that may be true, but, I know for a fact that the novel is told in Shu's point of view, because the emperor of the time claimed he was a descendant of Liu Bei so, Guanzhong had to make it about Shu to please the emperor. Or that's what I have heard. Maybe Liu Bei was corrupt all along, just wanted to hide it at the start. (Oh I know about his appearance, apparently his arms were long enough to reach his knees when he stood up straight) Hmm, out of the characters you chose, the one that I really like is Ma Chao. Green is my favourite colour, but my favourite kingdom would have to be either Wei or Jin. This is because of the Sima family and characters like; Zhang Liao, Xiahou Dun, Dian Wei and Cao Pi.
I agree with you about Sima Zhao, he was quick to make Shu surrender, although he wouldn't have been able to do anything if the foundations hadn't been laid by his father and brother. Liu Shan, I guess I agree with this too, It's just we know so little about his reign.
Peace and justice should always be on someone's to-do-list in times of war.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
