Let me begin by saying one thing. Guilty Crown is something that is worth watching. It is beautiful. It is enjoyable. Once you are done though, and you look back you can see many places where it falls apart, BUT it is still worth watching, and something I would recommend to others.

I am not the best at reviews, so sorry ahead of time. Let's review!

Firstly, the story.
I thought the story was enjoyable enough. It was not extremely deep with all these twists and turns, but I enjoyed it.

Art.
Guilty crown is definitely one of the most beautiful anime that I have seen so far. Yeah, ... there are some that I have watched that are better, but this beauty is still worth mentioning, it makes Guilty Crown so much more enjoyable

Sound.
OMG Like art, the sound is absolutely fantastic. I still listen to Guilty Crown's soundtrack on occasion.

Characters
I do not fully know if this area is a disappointment or a joy. I feel that the side characters do not get the attention that they need. BUT in terms of characterization, I am partially happy with the MC. He changes throughout the series, depending on the event. I love his emotions. The only problem is that he seems to change too quickly on certain occasions.

Enjoyment is definitely a 10 out of 10. I absolutely loved watching this, and the only thing that I did not like was the very end, and that was because they did an epilogue where they jumped into the future to show you how everything is doing. I hate those types of things, if and only if they are not done well, and this is one of the situations where I do not think that it went well. BUT it was still awesome.

So for scores...
Story, pretty good...... 8/10
Art, so beautiful.... 10/10
Sound, not as good as the art but still brilliant...... 8/10
Character, loved small parts but needs improvement..... 6/10
Enjoyment, absolutely loved it...... 10/10

Now, the overall. If i just averaged all the scores it would be an 8.4
I am going to raise to nice lovely 9/10.

9 is something I enjoyed and would recommend
10 would be a masterpiece and sadly Guilty Crown is not that.

Initial Reaction (This is literally three texts I sent to a friend in response to watching this anime.)

Text 1:
I just watched a super sad anime and am currently crying (silent tears) in the UC and trying to hide from anyone watching.

Text 2:
You don't understand. 45 minutes long. It was only 45 minutes long and it had me in tears. It was the most simple love story I had ever seen and it's simplicity made it so beautiful then it all disappeared and it was so stupid how it happened and it became so beautiful how it ended and just thinking about it makes me tear ... up.

Text 3:
I changed locations, so I am now crying in the library.

Here is the thing. I love romance, and this is one of my favorite romances.
Why?
Because it was simple and innocent and absolutely beautiful.
Gin (the male mc) is unable to touch humans, and if he does he will disappear. Hotaru is a human so she is unable to touch Gin. This makes it innocent in a way that most romance cannot be.
I will finish by saying that this is a beautiful romance that is worth the watch.

To start, I want to say something. It is placed into the romance genre on this website, but I am not necessarily sure that I agree with that assessment. I feel it is more a strong friendship that could bud into a romance, but there is nothing really beyond that.
Now that I have said that, I want to say it is worth a read. It is a quick story about the importance of following dreams. One of my favorite parts is how the two main characters reach a point where it seems impossible to follow their dreams, but they are able to push each ... other forward, to keep on the path that leads to their dream, to keep doing what they love.

It is incredibly short and incredibly sweet.
Like seriously, it is short. I have read a few one shots already, and this one is by far the shortest, only like 17 pages. Seriously, it will probably take more time to read this review than to read the manga. Plus, it is worth it. So, stop reading this review, and go and read the manga.

I feel that the hugest drawback of this manga is the length. I have already mentioned several times that Christmas ni Omoi wo Nosete is short, so short that ... the title is longer than the actual manga. If you did not realize, that was a joke.
Anyways...
As I was saying, the length made it upsetting. You do not get to know the characters that much. There is no back story. And just forget about side characters, in the end, they are mostly unimportant.
While I am saying it is the largest drawback, do not let it stop you from reading the manga. As I began with, it is short and sweet. It does not take much time, and the little it does, is a good price to pay for the art and story.

This is a beautiful manga. I do not know how to describe my feelings towards this manga beyond that, but I will try.
I really enjoyed the art. The art is pretty standard for its genre, but there is something about although I am not sure that makes me enjoy it even more than other of similar styles.
I also really enjoyed the story line. It is sweet, innocent, and beautiful. It has a good flow. It is also sad. The story is not that original, but ya know, great writers steal. :)
Characters: The characters were well done to the point that they were ... not lacking in any aspect, and yet I wished that they could have gone a bit deeper into both characters, but that is not possible with only four chapters.
