Hmmz... I will not read a manga unless it has a certain degree of romance, and I have a soft spot for smut as well. My anime preferences are different, though. In anime I prefer action, blood and guts. Romance isn't as necessary, as long as the plot is good enough.
Some genres I'm not a fan of include mecha, lolicon, and space. There are some exceptions, like Antique Romance, Neon Genesis Evangelion, or Tenchi Muyo. But most others I'm not too interested. I'm kinda picky with art styles as well. I tend to judge books by their covers.
I hate getting into a series and discovering it isn't finished. So I downright refuse to start a series unless it is completed. I have too many manga series I'm into that are pending updates. It's hard to stay interested when you have to wait several weeks, even months for the latest volume.
Not sure what else to add, but that pretty much sums up my anime/manga preferences. Anything else, just ask. ^^

NOW THAT I HAVE CONFESSED, COME TO OTAKON WITH ME.
Or at least the beach again. I can't believe it's been a year since I saw you last. And that beach trip was so much fun. I must go to the beach before I go back to school, it's like a requirement for having a good summer. ♥
I hope you're doing awesomely, dude. :D
Those recommendations are pretty handy when I'm searching some new anime to watch. ^_^
Lol no, not really. I just wanted to joni here so I can actually mark up those anime series what I wanna watch and what I've watched. You know me, a memory of a goldfish. >.>

But if I was going to take summer classes, it'd be to get some boring required classes out of the way, like the second art history class I have to take and a couple of different English classes. Instead they're offering more fun English and art classes and I'd rather take them with the hard ones over the course of a longer semester since it'll help ease the busyness of having to be bogged down with more required classes versus electives.
But yeah, I was thinking about going to NYAF '10 (New York Anime Festival) just to try something different. I've been going to Otakon for the past, like, six years in a row. I haven't been to another con, unless you count the cute tiny little convention at my college. That, and I've never been to New York. So I thought it'd be fun to take a person or two and go, but I only have one person who's interested and with me thinking I'm not going to be able to pull my weight in gas/hotel/food, I'll probably have to hold off until next year.
Let's see. Banned from A4. That pissed me off with the mods. Overall, I just did not like how they were doing things. Out of spite, I told them to delete some of my posts. Well, I lost over half. After that, I decided; screw it, I ain't comin' back.
And right. I didn't use this site for social networking either -- until I got kicked out of A4... then decided to no longer bother with it. Didn't take me long to comfortable here in that aspect. But, like with A4, I am virtually everywhere here.
School's good, thank you! We're coming up on the end of the semester in a couple of weeks, so I'll be free for the summer! I wanted to take summer classes, but they're not really offering what I want to take, so I don't think I'll be taking anything. I might take a class at the community college or something for fun. I want to do SOMETHING this summer besides work!!
And yes, we need to get together... ASAP... especially since I'm not gonna be in school this summer! :P
Oh, oh! Are you thinking about Otakon? I'm still up in the air, but I think I may still wind up going, just for the sake of doing so... since I know I can't afford New York at this point...
I hope things are going well~ Message me sometime! :D
