One thing that's appreciated with the adaptation of this story arc, which is a prelude to the Hades saga, is that it's much more faithful to the manga than the classic series, although it takes its creative liberties, of course.
The work is very well directed, with spectacular moments that made many love returning to the series after so many years.
And although the mechanics of the 12 temples arch are repeated here, it has a foundation, a reason, and it makes it feel much more exciting.
Sure, there are some things that have to be blamed on the mangaka for certain decisions he makes in this saga
...
that it shows that he was deciding on the fly instead of thinking it through, but he can be forgiven.
In short, and getting to the point, this saga starts off spectacular, and closes with a flourish, so it's highly recommended.

When you watch this series you will notice that it has several themes of the harem and romantic comedy genre, but what makes it so special?
To begin with, the characters have well-defined personalities, without being one-dimensional.
And the protagonist is not the typical cardboard character that everyone falls in love with just for being nice, but he's unique and the motivations of how everyone can get along are correctly justified.
It's true that the plot of being a tutor who teaches lazy girls in the studio has already been explored before with Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai, and although that work stands out in comedy, there's also
...
quite good humor here, but what most what stands out is the drama and the relationship between the characters.
And although it's not as deep a drama in the style of Jun Maeda's works, it usually keeps you interested until the end of the series.
Of course, there are several conveniences that make the plot advance and some situations feel forced.
It's normal in this kind of series.
But here it feels fresh, and is a good example of how a work, even if simple, can be effective and very well executed.
In conclusion, it's not a masterpiece, but in what it proposes it does quite well.
It's a simple plot, but with well-written characters, well-handled humor, and a pinch of drama that makes everything connect quite well, and it doesn't go overboard with fanservice.

When seeing a work by Maeda, one expects something that makes you feel different emotions, that makes you laugh, feel a lot of empathy for the characters and break down in tears in equal parts, and it partly succeeds, which I will explain below.
The work focuses mostly on humor, and the characters don't have that much depth, except for some of them, but said humor is very entertaining and more than once made me laugh out loud.
There are also moving moments, some are good but didn't give it as much depth as they should, and others feel a little forced, but when it's supposed to
...
get good, it gets good, and it'll bring tears to your eyes.
But believe me when I tell you that the powerful comes in the last four episodes. That's what you came for.
Do you want to cry? You're going to cry profusely.
That's when the series rewards those who decided to stay until the end.
The music is also moving, in that Maeda never disappoints.
Songs like "Natsu Nagi" or "Takaramono ni Natta hi" are some of the most beautiful I've heard of all Maeda's works, and they're spectacular at the moments where the series enters its climax.
The series had a lot of publicity before it was released, but many abandoned it halfway because it didn't meet their expectations from the beginning, hating Maeda so much that it made him fall into such a depression that he even thought about committing suicide and decided to abandon writing, but he didn't deserve such a thing.
The series may not be very well written, its ideas may not be very well executed, and the characters don't have that much depth, but it delivered in making me feel various emotions.
Please, give it a chance, and watch it until the end, you won't regret it.

Being direct, Sonic X seems like a good series to me.
It is not perfect, it has a few flaws (especially the 4Kids version) but it manages to be a really enjoyable work, both for children, as well as for teenagers and adults.
To be clear, it's true that the series doesn't measure up to better works, but it is not as bad as many say.
Let's see, we must bear in mind that this is supposed to be based on the modern Sonic universe, but with certain alterations, such as the background of certain characters or their personalities, which seem quite decent to me.
There are seasons that
...
are mostly self-concluding chapters, but there are others with longer arcs, which are either adaptations of games or are their own stories, and again, although they have their setbacks, they manage to be enjoyable.
The characters that we meet throughout the video game franchise are very well worked, both in their personalities, as backgrounds and reactions to certain situations.
The problem is with the new characters, like the human protagonist, who many people hate, but personally I don't hate him, and he doesn't seem completely useless to me either.
Many people have imagined what it would be like if a fictional character existed in real life and you could interact with him.
Well, that's exactly what they thought when creating the character of Chris, with the aim that the viewer self-insert, believing himself the protagonist, and thus making that dream of many fans real.
Returning to the new characters, they aren't very in-depth like the already known ones, they are just correct.
The Japanese version is very good.
It has a correct balance between humor and drama, and even gives rise to tragedy and chilling moments, both in scenes and in dialogues.
The problem was what 4Kids did to westernize the work, making it much more cheesy, censoring many things, altering the dialogues, and eliminating tragic, emotional, deep and very interesting scenes.
And although I like the dubbing a lot and it makes me nostalgic, unfortunately it's very inferior in terms of its altered script, which is a thousand times better in the original version.
The soundtrack (in the Japanese version) was composed by Yoshihiro Ike, who worked on "Blood: The Last Vampire" and the latest CGI "Saint Seiya" movie, and it's decent.
It is not his best work, since the sound tracks that are heard aren't very memorable: most are just correct, although there are a few that feel out of place.
Except for a few that are insanely cool, plus there are also a few songs from the games, which are a phenomenal plus.
However, the 4Kids version did a more generic job, with a very cartoonish soundtrack, but there are certain points where it surpasses the Japanese version.
Personally, I found it to be a very funny and entertaining series, and it has several very emotional moments that reach their highest level in the Japanese version, which in the Western version was omitted to make it more innocent and inoffensive.
It is not a series for everyone, and it is not a masterpiece, but it is not bad either.
Clearly it's a lighter story than many others out there, but if you are a follower of the adventures of the blue hedgehog, or just want to have a good time, it's highly recommended.
