About Imperturbable

I've dropped many series because I never intended to finish them in the first place. I browse through them for the sole intention of hearing seiyuu whom I like. Particularly my favourite seiyuu, but there are others, of course. (See "Seiyuu I really like" below.) Other times, I end up actually finishing series that, according to genre, are things that I would never, ever touch. Such is the power of seiyuu.

I really like range in seiyuu.

----------

Now, for some of my likes and dislikes in anime--

Naba and Itou~ (*´▽`*)
(seiyuu Itou Shizuka (left) and Nabatame Hitomi (right) for those not in the know)
YURI!! (屮゜Д゜)屮

Current favourite phrase/blurb:

…自棄汁粉ですわ。

出会って一週間。 はっ! 笑わせないで下さいな。
一ヶ月…今日はお姉さまと私が運命の赤い糸で結ばれて、ちょうど一ヶ月目の記念日ですのよ!

--
My list of "favourite characters" to the left has been determined on the basis of their voice, persona, charisma, and other such factors. Ahem, of course, being voiced by my favourite seiyuu really, really helps... It also doubles as and serves to show the roles I think are particularly exceptional (and dare I say "epitomical" for their class?) from my favourite seiyuu. Oh, and Kuroko's there because she's just too awesome and hilarious.

Favourite lesbian characters*:
And these really are spoilers (to a certain extent); I didn't use the spoiler tag because I had an insanely long list. There are only a few characters on here.

*Purely in terms of realness and believability as characters... well, clearly except for the second and third on the list.

Female characters I dislike:

Aaeru (Simoun)
Aoi Nagisa* (Strawberry Panic!)
Azuma Hatsumi (Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito)
Ootori Amane (Strawberry Panic!)
Kurusegawa Himeko (Kannazuki no Miko)
Konohana Hikari (Strawberry Panic!)
Tsukidate Chiyo (Strawberry Panic!)
Yumemiya Arika (Mai-Otome)
Nina Wang (Mai-Otome)
Mashiro Blan de Windbloom (Mai-Otome)

*She was okay for a bit near the end. Not as much of a doof.

The song that will take over the world:

"Ichigo Complete" (Ichigo Mashimaro OP)

Seiyuu I really like:

Asakawa Yuu (浅川 悠)*
`Itou Shizuka (伊藤 静)**
Itou Miki (伊藤 美紀)
Kawakami Tomoko (川上とも子)
`Kawasumi Ayako (川澄 綾子)
Kobayashi Sanae (小林 沙苗)
Paku Romi (朴 璐美)***
Hisakawa Aya (久川 綾)
Horie Yui (堀江 由衣)

*Mostly for her deep voice.
**Love her singing too.
***Have you ever heard this woman? She's freakin' awesome. Dead sexy voice; sings well; is playful, humourous, and charismatic.
`I am fond of her general performance, but she lacks something or some things that would up her to the next level in my estimation.

Originally the above was entitled "Seiyuu I like", but I found that it wasn't comprehensive enough. There are a gazillion other seiyuu I like who didn't make the list. I mean, come on, Minagawa Junko, Saiga Mitsuki, and Yukino Satsuki (for example) would've made the list for sure if it were a "Seiyuu I like" list. Actually, that doesn't even begin to express how much I like Minagawa... I watched Prince of Tennis for her. And I hate shounen. That tells you how much I like her. I'm also inclined to include Kugimiya Rie-- on one condition, however. I like Kugimiya for her deep voice. Yes-- her deep voice. I love my tsunderekko (my favourite classic tsunderekko being Okuwaka Tsubomi from SP! and Itsukushima Takako from Otoboku) but nuh uh, I'm not touching Kugimiya with a hundred-metre pole if it's appealing to her moe aspect. Hint: I like her for Sakagami Kouya of Loveless, not for Nagi, Shana, Louise blah blah blah, etc. Come on, it's Kouya/Yamato, people. A serious breakthrough in yuri.

Ah, Shindou Naomi. Her singing is love.

The Smokin' Hot List:

Seiyuu are listed with their most memorable "hot" roles.

Asakawa Yuu - Osakabe Itoko of School Rumble
Nabatame Hitomi - Hanazono Shizuma of Strawberry Panic
Minagawa Junko - Akira Ferrari of Aria franchise
Paku Romi - Pharis of Murder Princess, but practically anything she does... And what's it with her and traps...?

(Rider of Fate/stay night and Oosaki Nana of NANA are currently under review.)

Seiyuu I dislike:

Kataoka Azusa`
Koshimizu Ami (小清水 亜美)*
Shimizu Ai (清水 愛)**
Noto Mamiko (能登 麻美子)***
Hirano Aya (平野 綾)``

*I will concede she did an good job with Tsukamoto Tenma (School Rumble). I do not think, however, that it was due to talent. It was just a role that worked, somehow.
**Hate to say this, but Ellis from El Cazador de la Bruja grew on me despite everything.
***I dislike her for her complete lack of range, but I am slightly ambivalent due to two brief (but golden) performances. One of them wasn't even done while she was in the capacity of a seiyuu. And now it's been pushed back to "intensely dislike" since she did really, really poorly with this other role. Or rather, she was impossibly stagnant with a role where her only voice was most unsuitable.
`Pretty much a nobody in the world of anime, but her voice is so bad (RE: Penguin Musume Heart) that it merits mention.
``I really can't stand seiyuu who get popular just because they look cute and don't have an ounce of talent in them. (Seeing a trend here? Koshimizu Ami too. Sad to say, but even Koshimizu has more talent than Hirano.) Now, I'm not a complete Hirano hater. Her Konata voice was very... Konata, and so that was a fairly good performance. She just can't do emotional scenes for squat, and has a horrible "high" voice. (Don't know what I'm talking about? Check out Nonomura Ayumi from Hyakko.) And please contrast with seiyuu who actually have talent (and who rely on being "cute" or generally moe to gain an enormous fanbase): Tamura Yukari and Kugimiya Rie are two who come to mind. I'm not crazy about them since I still don't like the whole being cute to get fans thing, but I respect their specialisations and the talent they have.

Ohh, and I love Ryou from SSS. If anyone can make "Spaceship Uterus" sound suave, it's her.

Please feel free to message me if you'd like to talk about anime (about seiyuu-- not VAs-- or just series in general).
No random friend requests please. Well, I've blocked them, since, guess what, I keep getting random friend requests. My private messages are open, though.
