I usually go by Akira, but I figured that username wouldn't be available on MAL.

I am an occasional contributor to The Nihon Review. Just because it says I'm a full-time staff member doesn't mean that I review something every season. Most of the time, I post my asinine observations of modern Japanese Visual culture on Behind the Nihon Review, the staff blog. In addition, I am a (mostly retired) fansubber for an undisclosed fansubbing group. I'm also the quasi-leader of Despair Works; if you read DW's Koe de Oshigoto! or Literature Girl, that's my translation you're reading. I'm much more of an eroge player than an anime watcher, and I really can't be bothered to update my list entirely since there's just too much crap I've watched throughout the years.

I'm also a huge fan of Touhou Project. I very rarely (whenever I'm needed) write for Gensokyo.org, and assist in translating the games here and there, whenever I'm needed.

Because I need to conceal my power level in the hopes of not being a total loser during my time at college, I've removed all references to anime on my facebook. As a result, I've decided to hide out here instead.

It's a shame that there's no list for favorite doujin circles. Might as well list them. In no particular order (since they're all just as good):
