Once again, Shokugeki no Souma has been amazing. I remember back to when I was shiny new to anime and refused to watch it because it was too ecchi and I shake my head at myself. The fanservice is back this season but it's still more of a funny aspect of the show than anything serious so it's still fine.

The biggest reason I loved this season was the character development. Talking about some of the characters before this season started - especially Erina - I was frustrated to realise there was such little development going on from season to season. I wanted Yukahira to stop ...

I absolutely adore this anime but it's not for everyone. In my opinion/experience you need to be a fan of both the original (at least the first season) and of the ridiculous fandom that exists around it. I spent most of the time laughing and really enjoying it where as it made my hubby just want to re-watch the first season of the original. I hope they do this for every season!

The story closely follows the first season but it really emphasizes some of the sillier elements. Things like Levi's cleaning and how Jean is a horse.

Mixed Feelings
This was a really good anime to fill the break between Shokugeki no Souma seasons but not something I will ever feel the need to rewatch. For me, this anime can be broken down into two parts, one of which is really high and the other is really low.

The really high was the ramen. The exploration of ramen in this show was just fantastic and I really learned a lot. It became a ritual at our house to make ramen and watch a couple episodes and apply what we'd learned last time. When the show is covering ramen, I'd rate it a 9 or 10.

The ...

I really enjoyed. It very much hit the romance spot left after finishing MY Love Story.

The characters were the standout here. I tried describing the side characters after the first few episodes and had to sum it up as they feel like real people. It's not a matter of do you like a character or not [though I ended up with strong feelings in both directions about them all] but just how real they feel.

The romances - that's right romances not romance - are fantastic. The main one betwen Yamato and Mei is of course the most complex but it follows the route of a ...

Ao Haru Ride (Anime) add
I really, really, really did not enjoy this anime. It was a recommendation from Black Prince and the Wolf Girl so I came into full of hope. For the first half, I was prepared to review this positively. There are definitely similarities to both Black Prince and to My Little Monster and the variations on the characters were good.

I started getting frustrated by how similarly all of the characters appeared. The animation level is quite high so it made it feel all the worse when we meet a few characters and it's hard to find the difference between them and the existing characters (ex. ...
