Hi! Nice to see you here on MAL. :D Hopefully we will interact more on here.
Sorry it took me so long to get to this, I get too distracted once I log in and forget to read my notifications. orz
hey there!! Happy New Year and all that good stuff!!
just thought i'd stop by and let you know there's finally a new anthology project posted in the 20+ club, and since you participated in the past, you might wanna check it out. anyways, i hope all is well with you, your presence is missed and hope to see ya around! :)
lol, I didn't really mind the Bount arc or Amagai, but part of that might have been because I didn't know they were fillers. I didn't even know Bleach was based on a manga. I've heard from other people though who either dropped Bleach or put it on hold because of the Bount arc. I hope you like the Zampakuto filler arc if you decide to watch it. Not only is it my favorite filler out of any anime I've seen, but I liked it better than the Fullbring arc which was in the Bleach manga.
One of my favorite aspects of Fairy Tail is the OST because I like Celtic music a lot. I'm not sure if you read my last comment, but I noticed you liked Flogging Molly so I was wondering if you have listened to Rum Rebellion which is another Celtic rock group.
I've heard from a couple people that One Outs is good, but the first sports show I'm going to watch is Prince of Tennis because the main character is my favorite English voice actor. He's voiced Ichigo from Bleach, Lelouch from Code Geass, Vash from Trigun, and one of the villains in Naruto. It doesn't get any more epic than that.
If you've been following the 20+ comments you might have already seen this, but in case you missed it:
Hey. How's Bleach going? How far are you now? I saw you added Soul Eater and Fairy Tail to your plan to watch list. You should be careful not to add too many because my list is approaching 200. I'm not sure if you saw my comment in the watching thread, but I watched Cat Shit One and it was awesome! I hope they eventually make more episodes because I don't really feel like reading the manga that much.
I noticed you like Flogging Molly. I've enjoyed the few songs of them I've heard so far. Have you listened to Rum Rebellion?
(edit: I just remember you can't watch YouTube on your computer. Well, I'll leave this here in case you want to try listening to them at a friend's house)
I'm not sure if you've been following the 20+ listening thread (because I already posted them there), last night I watched a bunch Saturday Night Live comedy music videos. I tried to limit the amount I chose to share, but there was a lot of good ones. Some are funnier than others while some are good songs even if they weren't humorous. Also, some you might have to wait till towards the end before humorous part happens.
Hey everyone!:) Sorry for the delay. The votes have been all counted up & the winners have been decided. Click the banner to check out the winners or click here.
My friend has a dinosaur laptop and it does the same thing. I even took some memory out of my old laptop and doubled the memory in his and it didn't do much; cpu and video card are just too old. I think it's awesome that you also you like ZZ Top, 38 Special and AC/DC. I do enjoy listening to old rock, the other day I was rockin out to Eye of the Tiger lol. Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, and Deep Purple are some others that I also really like.
lol, you don't have to be good at games to consider yourself a gamer. So you like Final Fantasy? Final Fantasy 1 and 2 for the NES were some of the first RPGs I ever played. The most recent Final Fantasy game I played was FF Tactics. I liked that game a lot. RPGs were my favorite type of game. I also liked Civilization, Dune 2, Worms, Bust-a-Move, and Colin Mcrae Rally.
I'm not sure if you live in the US or not, but if you do you can get cheap PS2 games on eBay or from Gamestop. With eBay you have to watch out because a lot of people charge high shipping, but do offer discounts if you buy more than one item. Gamestop charges a flat shipping fee which usually makes that a better value.
Cool, I have Katekyo Hitman Reborn! and Gintama on my plan to watch list. Hmm, not really sure what to recommend. Even all 3 are shonen they are quite different in many ways. They all have a certain amount of humor mixed in with the more serious parts. I was a bit skeptical about Naruto at first. My impression of the show was a 12 year old boy (he's 15 in Shippuuden) with a bright orange jumpsuit whose catchphrase was "believe it!" (in the subbed it was "dattebayo" which I'm told is a made up word) and we're expected to believe he's a ninja. After a few recommendations by different people I decided to check it out. It definitely has some silly humor, but it also gets really dark at times. At least as much as Bleach (I know Bleach isn't that dark compared to say the horror genre, but for me it was just the right amount). It definitely has the best battles. I'd say the battles are as good as Bleach and sometimes even better. Some of the battles are 6-7 episodes long. Of course, Naruto is the longest of the 3 even if you skip all the filler. Fairy Tail is probably the most lighthearted of the 3 although people do die from time to time. I like the fantasy setting of Fairy Tail too. I wish there were more good fantasy themed anime. I also like the Celtic inspired OST of the show. Soul Eater is good too. It's the shortest of the 3, but be prepared to read the manga afterwards unless you absolutely hate the show.
Hehe, I don't know if you want to start another long running shonen since you're watching Bleach now, but I would recommend all 3 of them. If you watch Naruto, make sure to skip all the filler. You can find filler lists online for most of the popular shonen shows. I was looking at your list and noticed you gave Nausicaa a high score. I've liked pretty much all the Ghibli movies I've seen. Spirited Away, Howl's Castle, Princess Mononoke, and Castle in the Sky are my favorites. I forget if you said that you prefer subs, but all the Ghibli movies have great dubs because they're produced by Disney so there's actually a lot of famous movie stars in the casts. I noticed Cat Shit One on your list and I had to check it out just because of the name. I added it to my plan to watch list.
I used to be a big gamer when I was younger, but I have pain in my hands due to fibromyalgia so I can't play anymore. Are you a gamer? If so, what kind of games do you like to play?
I actually haven't been watching much anime recently. I finished Soul Eater over 2 weeks ago and haven't watched anything since. I liked Soul Eater a lot, but the last 13 episodes were filler because the anime ended before the manga was even halfway finished so now I'm reading the manga from the point where the anime ended.
I'm also 5 weeks behind in both Naruto Shippuuden and Fairy Tail. What I've been watching a lot of this past month is YouTube videos of people playing video games. I mainly watch them because the players make a lot of funny comments while playing. My favorite is Pewdiepie. I've watched over 200 of his videos. Have you heard of him?
Oh, damn. Sorry to hear you're not enjoying Scryed. I don't really remember what happens in the first 2 episodes, but hopefully it will get more interesting later. As far as the English dub goes, I really liked the voice actor for Kazuma. I don't really remember too much about the other voice actors, but I almost always watch English dub except for a few shows so I rarely have a problem with the voice actors.
So how's Bleach coming along? Are you skipping the filler?
hahahahaha thanks for the reminder!! XP
hehe yeah i hear it, but it's a good tick tick...it's been a great year, so i look forward to it. best years ahead of me ya know?
as long as that clock KEEPS ticking right?!! XP
thanks anyways though!! hahaha :)
I hope you like Scryed. As you know, it is one of my favorites. I'm glad I watched it before I found out about MAL because I might have overlooked it due to its mediocre score. In one review I read, the person said the Japanese voice acting wasn't that great, but I watched it dubbed so I don't really know.
Yeah, I do like Metallica. I first got into Metallica my senior year in high school. My friend made me a cassette of Load and I drove around in my car listening to it all the time. I liked listening to almost all the songs on that album, but now the only Load songs I like are Until It Sleeps and Wasting My Hate. Later, I heard Ride The Lightning and For Whom The Bell Tolls and loved both of those songs. I also like The Unforgiven, One, and Wherever I May Roam.
Do you listen to power metal? Someone told me I would like power metal when I told him that I liked Metallica. I haven't really had a chance to listen to much, but I liked the groups he recommended and that Power Symphony song from the AMV I shared with you.
