ME:
Greetings. My name is Frank Zengerink, also known to friends by my user/nickname FullMetal Ocelot. I live in the Netherlands and I'm studying to become a English teacher.
Nothing much to say about me, other than the fact that I love writing, books, film, video games, comics and of course anime/manga.

PREFERENCES:
When it comes to which or what kind of anime/manga I prefer, I can be very brief: I like almost every genre there is.
I see animation as a unique form of storytelling, mainly because of the fact that animation is not restricted by any barriers in more live-action narritive works. And since in Japan animation is made both for alduts and children, a lot more mature themes and stories can be explored as opposed to western animation. That's not to say that western animtion is only marketed towards children, but in my opinion it's much more subdued in contrast to anime.
Since I've never really restricted myself to a certain genre, I'm able to enjoy almost everything: Shonen, Seinen, Mecha, Slice of Life, Fantasy, Crime, Comedy, War, Science Fiction etc. I usually judge something on it's narrative, characters and artistic value, rather than genre.
That being said however, I'm not really fond of Ecchi, Harem, VN adaptations and other Lolicon/Kawaii nonsense. But for the most part I'm rather open minded and there are exceptions to those kinds of anime/manga I mentioned.
