Mixed Feelings

Its quite a oldish series. Its been discontinued and I never heard of it until I found it at a thrift store. The art is amazing. Its so beautiful to look at and that's half the reason I read it. The story is okay. Its about following theses girls onto a quest and it goes around their journey. Its overall pretty funny to read and short. A good warm up. It could be better but obviously it was discontinued. I don't know why but maybe somewhere has it. It would have been nice to see it be a short anime but alass it wont be. ...

So very very brief. Many have formed their own opinions on it. There's usually a love-hate relationship with Part 1. Part 2 is a tad different. However for part 1, many see it as cliche or boring. The main protag having no personality or end goal. The villain having no real motivation. However, most usually looks into the surface. Just to briefly explain some things. The anime did a great job adapting Part 1 into, well, an anime. The manga of course explains some things better and gives more back story. It was the first animated part since the Part 3 OVAs. It was an ... experiment. To get the ball rolling. So, of course, everything won't is perfect. But overall on the production aspect, it did its service well. The story, while yes can seem bland to some. Can also seem great to others. Sometimes it comes down to personal preference. The story goes quite fast and some can see it as such and not pay attention. However, it overlooks the fact that Part 1s story is supposed to introduce the whole series. Its the backstory, the very beginning. While its set in the 1800s, the style for that type of writing was well done.

The characters were also adapted well. Sometimes you have to focus on the back story a tad more, to really understand the true motivations for some characters actions. So the Jonathan being a boring protag can be a valid argument, it also brings up why and how his character is. The anime adapted the character greatly, even gave him some more features and character depth. His character comes across as a gentleman striving to protect what he loves. That's how it comes across in both manga and anime, and the anime did a good job showing that. Dio's character usually argues "he had no real motivation." Which can come across to some people mainly because they didn't understand his back story. Which is also explained more in the manga. His character strives to ruin the Joestar bloodline. To take advantage of Jonathan and put himself at a higher seat. He portrays that very well in the anime. His character gets the point across that he's a selfish power-hungry narcissist. (I can go into a lot on Dio's true character depth) The supporting characters are also supporting characters and aren't the focus, but still, get good representation. Overall, it's well what its worth. It the first try at the Jojo series. As more got adapted, more got better and the fans could express what they liked and disliked

. So overall, yeah it was good. It had room for improvement, but at the end of the day, it comes down to a lot of personal preference.
