Introduction:
Hello there, friend!
We at the Australian & New Zealand Anime Club are proud to present... Our very first newsletter!

This community was founded on the 28th of January - 2015, and since that time we've come a very long way.
You are only reading this because YOU made it possible by being a very important piece of what makes this club what it is.

That said, we are happy to announce that we're coming close to reaching the 1,000 Member Milestone!
It's a wonderful thing to know that there are so many fellow Aussies and Kiwis who love Anime and we hope that we only continue to grow from here on out.

About the newsletter:
So you might ask, what's this newsletter all about?
Well, great question. We've scratched our heads a few times and figured that this newsletter will be dedicated to letting you know that we're active!

Despite the substantial growth of our club, there is still a handful of you that we still haven't had the pleasure of getting to know.
We want you to understand that this is a safe and fun club, but if you're shy then we're not going to force you to participate, this is simply to remind you that there is a place for everyone at this club, so if you ever warm up - come and say hi!

Here's what's happening right now:
We have a wide selection of club activities that you can participate in, from anime discussion to club games or casual conversation.
Anyone in the club is free to make up whatever thread they feel would interest people!

What we hopefully have planned for the future:
GFX Competitions, Giveaways, Club Member of the Month, Gaming Groups and more!

So, other than that, there isn't much to say this time around but hopefully the next time we have to do this, there is much more to look forward to.
We again are thankful to have you, and hope that you come and have some fun with us sometime soon.

- Yours truly,
The Australian & New Zealand Anime Club.

Oh yea, Joondalup is cool, I went to Uni there for a while. I'm still a student so I have a fair bit of time around assignments to watch anime. Also, I have no other hobbies such as gaming to take up my time, lol. When I finish Uni and start working, I'll probably have a lot less time though -_-'

!!! Well if it's a lot like Hajime no Ippo, I'll defiantly have to check it out sometime! Thx! Do you read any manga at the moment? or are you like me... haha
TensaiShonen Sep 24, 2010 1:25 AM
hiya..yeah I remembz...so I take it HSDK was good...should try continue reading the manga as there's more and Kenichi becomes more awesome

as for further rec's. the only one I can think of close to it is Hajime no Ippo(just not as funny) if you don't mind old school

others I'd probably recommend that might suit your fancy:

Black Cat
Chrome Shelled Regios
Chrno Crusade
Full Metal Panic! series
Kekkaishi
Kaze no Stigma
Katekyo Hitman Reborn!(starts off slow like all shonen, but gets pretty good)
Macross Frontier
Ranma ½(it does have inside jokes that maybe cultural, but if you can get past that, it's pretty good)
Rurouni Kenshin(if you don't mind samurai flicks)
Trigun(I'm surprised you haven't seen this one yet as it's an old school classic)

anyways give any of those a guy and see what you think...
Dekkar Sep 21, 2010 3:01 AM
Yeah that would of been pretty cool! I was kind of hoping there would be more about his past in the movie >_<, hopefully one day they will make a series or something!

Saw you just finished Kenichi, how was it?
Dekkar Sep 18, 2010 6:40 PM
Cool! Glad you liked it, but yep it would of made a lot more sense watching it between the 2 series haha! I see you liked sword of the stranger, damn the fights in that movie were pretty epic! Kinda wish there was a series to go with it :(
Kuma-Kuma Sep 16, 2010 11:42 PM

Kuma-Kuma Sep 16, 2010 10:26 PM
