Ayase looks like those characters that are added 3-5 episodes in just to have a romantic rival to the main character/otp. Brown hair, ponytail, tsundere type.
It was hella nice. I know you said the fan service repelled some audience but honestly without them, it would just have been an animated tv cooking show. The scenes depicted how the characters felt and what they experienced and when they did show those scenes then we, the audience, would also know that the chef is good since for the first few episodes only Soma could make those reactions happen. All in all, super good show but they ended at such a good point ;n; I'll read the manga soon
I love Tokyo Ghoul entirely, but I felt the anime did a poor job showing most of the scenes. There was a lot of interactions and expressions that weren't shown.
