From up on Poppy Hill has made itself an independent film that doesn't compare to any other Studio Ghibli films in the past. Before watching this, I was worried that it would be a copy for 'Whisper of the Heart', a romance film from Studio Ghibli that I thoroughly enjoyed myself. But this film is worlds apart from it and shines as a unique and enjoyable experience for all ages.
