I like Anime for its unique way of portraying thoughts, story, and music. I enjoy Anime for the animation style, the unique music, the character types, the unique plots, and the way everything is portrayed within it as it allows itself to express what it wants without constraint (proper manner).
I originally started watching Gundam Wing as the story and animation was far superior to what was being aired at the time, even seeing why I started watching with "Kara no Kyoukai", "Shingetsutan", "Natsume Yuujinchou" and "Kurokami".
My favourite anime:

- Gundam (All)
- Wagaya no Oinari-Sama
- Spice and Wolf
- Kara no Kyoukai
- Kurokami
- Ga-Rei Zero (and its manga side)
- Shingetsuten Tsukihime
- Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
- Macross (all)
- FLAG
- Natsume Yuujinchou
Theres probably more but I'll just list these as they are my fav' picks at the beginning of 2010.
What I dislike about Anime are the mindless fans who like Anime without constraint. They hype, rape, and deform anything good about it turning it into a pile of garbage. Nothing seems to be held sacred, much less to kids these days who try to fit into society by seeking attention.

If you do watch that many at once, is it hard to keep track of characters/storylines/etc.? I know a lot of people watch things week-by-week as they come out, so there'd be a lot at once.

I liked Kaede until the end. I choose to ignore those last couple of episodes :P
And yeah, enjoying it. There are quite a few I want to go back and rewatch (mostly Haruhi and the efs), but I'm not sure I'll ever get time to.
