If you're like me, you likely watched the anime series and immediately got so attached to the characters and storytelling, that you wanted more, so you decided to pick up the manga.
Volumes 1- 3 (Chapters 1 - 28) almost intimately follow the events of the series with the exception of a few new brothels, the manga coming way earlier than the series obviously, but to viewers of the anime, you may feel underwhelmed coming into the manga, as far as I remember, nipples are not even shown until the Will O Wisps brothel.
(The manga series does become as explicit as the anime though
...
if that's what you're reading for, don't worry.)
But as soon as I got to volume 4, I got hooked and remembered exactly why i loved this series, and why Amahara is such a great writer.
Ishuzoku Reviewers follows the adventures of three main protagonists, Stunk the human, Zel the elf, and Crim the angel, with many notable side characters that show up frequently, they review Succu-Joints as the world builds around them.
The worldbuilding in Ishuzoku Reviewers is actually exceptionally good, the anime series only having one season (so far) only manages to barely touch on the story, but the manga especially in later volumes, really really delves into the political worldbuilding, and research of Crim, angels become a central focus point in the story, as they both influence the church and story, and the magic needed to give the reviewers ways to review new brothels.
The story doesn't take away from the comedy or sexy stuff though, you'll be getting plenty of that still, it's hilarious, with some truly out there Succu-Joints.
The church gets introduced, as well as Demia and Deathabyss becoming significant characters, they seemingly take an antagonist role, but their intentions seem nuanced and generally help the reviewers, for example the research intro Crim's resistances allow them to create resistance rings so our adventurers can go back and review Salamander girls, or take a ice cold bath with cold-element girls.
The series is great because all characters really have their own intentions, their own goals, and we don't see the full picture, we get some almost scarily philosophical insights into the goddess and her behavior of abandoning worlds when things lead bad, as other angels start to take actions into their own hands, some angels wanting to purposefully break their halos so they can interact with the world, and the church investing in Demia to fix it.
This is just a little bit of how much goes on in this world, and all the new things you learn help add to the immersion of the world Amahara has created, all the conflict and stakes feel natural, and they build from a world that clearly has history.
As a reader, I was truly invested in the worldbuilding and lore this series has set up, Stunk Zel and Crimvael become all the more amazing characters.
There is a story between Zel and Mitsue in the manga that I will not spoil, but is one of the sweetest things I have ever read, they let the story be serious when it wants to be, sad when it wants to be, and hilarious when it wants to be, the tone never feels misguided, even in such an explicit series it works.
Overall, the Ishuzoku Reviewers manga exceeded my expectations and gave me everything I loved from the anime series and more, if you care at all about the story from the anime series, pick this up! it's hilarious, sexy, and has an incredible story.
And if you loved the creative brothels and play of fantasy tropes in the series, you will LOVE the manga.
I won't spoil any brothels, but they never lose creativity with them.
Masha is also a great artist and always manages to put Amaharas ideas into such great art, you can tell how much it improves 8 volumes in,
Genuinely beautiful series, it deserves a season 2, and now I wait for the next volume, I hope this series doesn't end for as long as the creators have interest in it.
Goodnight, and sweet dreams.

Simply one of the best comedy anime of all time.
Interspecies Reviewers is an anime that is unapologetically all about sex, but you already know that so let's talk about why the show is so exceptionally good.
The story follows our main three protagonists, Stunk, Zel, Crimvael, and while most fantasy stories follow combat and the most intense part of their lives, this show decides to follow the naturally progressing world and their personal "hobbies".
Stunk is a talented warrior having beaten adult knights when he was just a child, he holds discontent towards his father and upbringing and remains rather humble about his skills in the battlefield,
...
but not in the bed, Stunk is a real horny bastard.
Zel is a 200+ year old elf that has lived for longer than any of his friends, his tastes in women can range from looks to things humans can't comprehend such as magic and mana, Zel is also phenomenal in his skills.
Crimvael is a shy intersex angel that meets these two adventurers and that's where our story really starts, Crimvael has a broken halo and it is his goal to fix that halo and return to heaven, but he is saved by Stunk and Zel who insist to treat him to a succu-girl to take his first time.
Side characters include a sadist halfling, a beast-man, a fairy, and an Incubus, a snake-boy, and of course Meidri, a bird-maid who runs Ale N Eats.
These characters alone are fun and interesting, but what really makes them special is the dynamic they all share as friends, being of different species they all have unique quirks and interactions that make this show really special, a lot of anime fantasy shows with lately the exception of Frieren do not care to pay attention to these nuances, an elf may as well be a human, a succubus may as well just be a crazier human.
Interspecies Reviewers completely turns what could otherwise be a generic fantasy world, into some of the best worldbuilding that challenge even the best serialized anime, and explores how the sexual interests and preferences and compatibility works for all species in this world.
Elves will insist 500 year old elf girls that may look like 20 year olds to the average human, are actually extremely old, elves can just tell that their mana is off, snakes will have fetishes directly involving eggs because they like to consume unfertilized eggs, angels are hermaphrodites, demons get off on signing contracts, the list goes on.
Each species has their own unique quirks that all interact with other species and the world itself, running brothels based off of these experiences, and exploring how people would have sex with these hybrids, exploring real life facts of animals, or fantasy tropes, or mythology, to create these interactions.
Did I mention this show is also hilarious? with one-liners you would expect out of South Park, it's surprising some of these jokes managed to make it in Japan, direct references to other anime, and about as much sexual comedy as you would expect from a show about sex.
The music and animation is diverse and amazing.
I will just say that this anime has my personal favorite soundtrack from maybe all media in general, from the Village People classic YMCA inspired Ikouze Paradise Opening, to a Ethnic Japanese Song that seamlessly switches into EDM for an ending, to Smoky Review, Kotone Naito and the VAs did an exceptional job at creating this soundtrack, the animation is no different, it is simply beautiful and pleasing to watch.
Speaking of diversity, this anime has an unexpected positive message about it, that while all of us may be different, we can contribute and co-exist. ""If you like the same goods we do, then whatever your species you're one of us!" the anime also has a story that delves into the political party of demons and the evolving world of magic and technology, unfortunately when they start to really get into it, the show ends, so you will have to pick up the manga if the story interests you, but what's really interesting is these political parties will come out to ask the Reviewers to review their species, since it gives them good PR, it really shows the influence these reviewers have and gives surprising commentary on our life.
Oh yeah, there is also a lot of sex, I have gone this far without mentioning some people consider this anime a borderline hentai, which is fair, it got taken off of Funimation and removed from Tokyo MX in Japan, this anime was controversial to say the least, what makes this very special compared to other ecchi anime is they are not afraid to show and do everything.
Overall, I give this anime a 10/10, because I truly see no flaws with it, there are better anime out there sure, but Interspecies Reviewers is perfect at what it does, and is perfect in what it's trying to be, if you can get past the weirdness of an intersex angel doing it with a furry hyena girl, you will enjoy it and be surprised at how well made it actually is.
TL;DR Interspecies Reviewers is one of the most unique and well-made anime of the 2020s, and the only flaw is that they haven't made a season 2 already, it's sad that a lot of anime fans will skip this because of the premise, because it is truly special.
Goodnight, and sweet dreams.
