Hmmm, Cromartie High School....
Basically, there is this normal guy who attends a high school that is literally full of delinquents (self-proclaimed badasses). The manga tells the story of this guy's adventures in the school and of his delinquent friends and other associates. I guess you could describe it as slice of life but it is primarily a comedy and the humour involved is well thought out and really works. SAO is a very divisive anime. People loyal to the light novel hate it (because the anime focuses more on the cute girls and jumps around with the side stories rather than creating a bleak & dark atmosphere of panic that is present in the novel) and people who haven't read the novel love it (because they don't know how much more superior the novel is :p). The basic premise is very promising and so whether you choose to read it or watch it, i'm sure you'll enjoy it either way.
I'm currently watching the anime and its good and executed well so far (very nice visuals etc) but tbh I have to admit that it is inferior to the novel but regardless, it's still a somewhat decent anime.
Some people get so divisive and are such purists when it comes to such matters. It's sad because in the end, they will get less enjoyment out of it than someone who is relaxed and as you say can find a good relationship between the two.
Haha I agree about Chii although tbh I did get a bit bored eventually so its currently on my 'on-hold' list.
Yeah, when I saw the cover image for Accel World, the fat guy's design is what put me off adding it to my list lol. Maybe i'll watch in in due time.
Same here, I rarely read manga. You are right about it going deeper but it is a hassle to find mangas and reading manga online is just annoying because you don't get the same feel as you do when you are turning the pages.
Although there is one manga that I do regularly read and that is 'Cromartie High School'. It is the funniest thing that I have ever read and I would highly recommend it ^_^
Other than that, I prefer to read light novels instead.
I read Sword Art Online which was done by the same writer as Accel World and it was very good but the anime is not as good in comparison because it is more condensed and does not concentrate as much on the important parts of the story.
I think that's the case with most adaptions so if you choose to read a manga or light novel, you will probably be dissapointed with its anime counterpart (a similar feeling with Campione and some others).
Hah, I guess we are very alike in that regard then as my preferences coincide with yours. If you ever have any question about which anime out of your extensive list you should try first then let me know, and I will do the same :]
Also, I notice that your Manga list is empty. Do you not read any manga then?
Haha yeah I noticed you updating it. A nice varied selection there, hopefully you'll be able to find a few that are worthy of getting the 10/10 (masterpiece) rating eh.
