umm... when you're responding to someones comment on your profile i think you should do it on their profile, it's hard to notice when you do it on your profile ^^
well i like mecha but most of my friends that aren't into mecha stuff loved Code Geass and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann for it's great plot and characters. they say it's just a matter of a few episodes to get used to the mecha stuff. as for romance and shoujo, Nodame Cantabile and Lovely Complex are more of a really hilarious comedies than love-love romances with crying every episode and drama all over. there are romantic moments, but not really often.

i think you could try Code Geass, Spice and Wolf, Last Exile, Gankutsuou (this one has shounen-ai all over it and there isn't one girl i hated there), also Baccano!, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Seirei no Moribito, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex if you like cyberpunk. Denno Coil is a really good series, you might like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, it's really funny. Nodame Cantabile was loved even by my hardcore yaoi fan friend ^^" and Lovely Complex is also good if you want to watch a good shoujo. umm the spread of the genres in my recs is quite big, but after watching some of them i think it should be easier for you to find series that fit your taste. i think you might be getting quite bored watching all of that shounen series ^^"
