I came across Strawberry Panic in an attempt to find some actually decent yuri anime, and it's been one of my favourite animes since. The main characters are great and funny, and I liked the other romantic side-stories of characters from other schools.
It's not really about plot as much as relationships, but it did manage to have a sweet story by the end. It's also not ridiculously long, which I preferred. There are obviously a few unnecessary episodes, but they're funny enough that you probably won't mind.
I like stories with large casts of likeable characters, and that's really what I remember about Strawberry Panic. ...

I was really disappointed in this manga. When I read the back and the first few pages, I thought, "Hmm. A real historical setting with demons and gods thrown in? Interesting."
It was NOT really interesting. One important point is that I was told it was a shounen ai, but I wouldn't watch it for that alone, or you'll be disappointed: Yuri insists he's not gay, and thinks male/male relationships are weird, although there are characters who seem to crush on him despite that.
All the characters are awesome. Wolfram is my favourite, but that's a close ...

Black Bird (Manga) add
Preliminary (5/84 chp)
Well, I don't normally like fluffy, pretty romantic shojo mangas, so I didn't have high expectations for this when I first read it. In fact, I only did so because someone bought it for me. But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised as I continued reading.
The beginning was a little slow, and I didn't think the first volume was the strongest, but it gets much better as you continue. The main character Misao improves a little from her weepy start, and Kyo is rather funny with his naughty mind: I found it preferable to him being unrealistically sweet. Also, the second volume ...
