I decided to give this a go as my first GL anime, and honestly, I'm not impressed. The series is not bad, it has a nice world building and Claire is a good character, but I didn't enjoy anything else besides that.
Plot is weak, not the worst but not good either, Rae was really annoying for majority of the show, Manaria too was annoying and she was used as a plot device(I hate when authors do that).
The political aspect that the series tried to introduce was not good at all, would've been better for the anime to not even try to touch on such

I initially started reading this novel without many expectations aside from expecting it to be incredibly lewd, but color me surprised, it's actually one of the best novels of the genre I read in a pretty long time(personal opinion obviously).
The story is unexpectedly interesting and there's a decent number of mysteries that will make you curious. MC is surprisingly fun, he is kind of a coward/scaredy cat at the beginning but he develops as a character as the volumes go by, he is quite hard working too.
