Goku was very much competitive, he always wanted to train, he may just compensated it here by challanging Vegeta some more.

It's obvious, that the movie is not "good", but there is no reason to hate it as much as you do too

Just wanted to add something about Vegeta's "brother". Even I admit, that his introduction was a bad move by the production company, but it's very possible that he had a brother. You forgot one important fact: Sajyajins' age much slower than humans and they were a race of warriors. Weak people mostly were killer off or banned. Because of his royal origin he was "exiled". :) He could have been twenty-something when Freeza took "care" of him.

How could Goku be out of character? He was as always. Friendly, happy to spar and hoggish. Being nonserious till his enemy became a little bit of a theat to his family.

I know what you mean. I can understand Krillin and Yamcha and all the regular humans dying, but what about master Roshi, the Saiyans and piccolo? I though Roshi took the potion thingie that makes him live for ever, and Saiyans and Nameks are supposed to live for a long time. Those fuckers.

Bardock: The Father of Goku was a great special (Can't remember if I put it on my list or not (if I didn't I was probably too lazy)). Its one of the more epic moments in the DBZ franchise (Although nothing can surpass Trunks defeating Freeza and King Cold). Toriyama didn't even write the material for DBGT, so that's why it was so bad. but you have to admit, it was kind of depressing seeing the greatest hero (in my mind) end his adventure. I was even more sad when I watched the Hero's Legacy DBGT special (almost to the point of crying, it was sad knowing every single character from DBZ was dead (except Pan, but she was in there for like 1 episode)). But honestly, Son Goku and His friends Return wasn't that bad. Just think, it was in the era BEFORE GT. Be thankful they didn't make a movie based on the GT series.

The whole Vegeta having a brother thing was a bit retarded, I'll admit that. They were probably desperate for a story. Think about it, after Goku defeated Freeza he was basically torn to shreds. You got to wonder how he survived being cut in half and having his arm cut off (if I remember correctly). Plus he was floating in space. A lot of things in Dragonball Z don't make sense, but we shouldn't be looking for things that are wrong or incorrect. We should just enjoy the show.

Remember, they had just defeated Majinn Buu, so maybe that's why they seemed a little different. Vegeta was more relaxed because I guess he finally grew use to life on earth and Goku. He already knew that he couldn't be the best (in fact he admitted it somewhere in the buu saga), so he stopped being so angry and cooled down a bit. Though he still is sort of an asshole in GT.

Maybe Yamcha taught Trunks and Goten the Wolf Fang Fist? Who knows.
I don't remember them fusing instantly in the move, but it was probably a flaw. This move was made a long time after Goten and Trunks last fused, so they probably forgot over time that you have to wait 30 minutes between fusions.
Some parts of it were bullshit, but I liked it simply because it was Dragonball Z. DBZ was a part of my childhood, so I liked it because I've been a DBZ fan since I was little. Of course, I didn't rate it how I usually rate anime, and that's because you have to realize that it holds a special place in your heart and cannot be judge by normal means.

It looked like something from a kids anime. Maybe it has several vaginas. Who knows?
