Then again, Death Note went down in quality after the first half of the series, so maybe Zankyou no Teroru is just being faithful to the formula. It's all part of the plan! But yeah, it almost feels like Five is just there so we'll have a more straight-up villain that'll provide more conflict for the series. Which is fine, though they could have foreshadowed her appearance better.

Concerning Toukyou Guuru, one of my favorite series is Evangelion, so whiny characters are a-okay with me! I actually liked the early episodes best since they were more straight-up horror rather than the dark n' edgy shounen that it is now (albeit it's technically a seinen.) It's remained fairly consistent with its themes on "Otherness", conflict, and the criminal underworld though, so I still quite like it.

I still haven't watched past episode 5 of the first season of SAO, lol. I get too distracted by airing anime.

Yeah, the one major problem I have with Aldnoah.Zero is Inaho's lack of emotion; it's a solid mecha war drama otherwise (as of what I've seen up to episode 6, anyways.) Some people argue that that's just his way of coping with the atrocities happening around him, but I still need to see SOME emotion from him to really buy that argument.

To be honest Akame ga Kill is easily my least favorite of the season eheh, though I've at least started to enjoy it as just a goofy shounen. The big problem I had with it is that it revels in blood and gorey violence and justifies it by making the villains super cartoony, all while trying to be dark and edgy and playing lip service to moral ambiguity. Either it just doesn't know what it wants to be like you say, or it's trying to have its cake and eat it too.

I haven't watched past the first episode of SM:Crystal yet, though I hear the visuals get very lazy and poor shortly afterward. Which is unfortunate since I actually liked the visuals of the first episode.

Why thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed reading my blog!

Hm, it's tough to say what show I'm really enjoying the most right now. It'll be easier to choose once everything's finished, but Summer just has such a solid lineup overall (albeit nothing as great as Kill la Kill or Ping Pong.) Plus some shows I'm more caught up on than others.

Anyways, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is the comedy that I find the funniest, so there's that. I also love Barakamon too; it's not quite as funny as Nozaki-kun, but it's themes on art and talent resonate with me a lot (and it's still pretty funny.)

Zankyou no Terror would be the more serious show I'm enjoying most. It's gotten a bit sillier since the introduction of Five, but it's still a solid thriller which leaves me wanting more at the end of each episode.

What about you? What's your favorites?
