Keep in mind that I have given these novels a 10/10 because I am extremely biased (ONS is my main interest), so if I were your average reader, I would give these novels an 8/10.
Although MAL has this title listed as completed, as far as we know, it’s just on hold. Kagami has said that he plans on releasing another novel to this title that centers around Ferid Bathory.
The name suggests it will be about Mika’s time between becoming a vampire and reuniting with Yuu, however that’s not completely the case. It does show some scenes of Mika right before he became a vampire and

a brief scene when he was 14, however, the two books that are out at this moment focus on Crowley’s life as a human and how he met Ferid and became a vampire. [Manga spoiler in next sentence] That’s why I like to think of the title as “The Story of Vampire Michaela” since Ferid, Crowley, and Mika are classified as Michaelas.
These two books go into detail about Crowley’s character - he’s very lovable...a bit naive but that’s part of his charm. They also tell us a lot more about Ferid, even illuding to his past in certain parts. I find anything that has to do with Ferid extremely interesting since he’s one of the most eccentric and confusing characters in Owari no Seraph. General warning since there are some topics that may make some people uncomfortable, such as mentions of p//doph//lia, child ab//se, and mentioned r//pe. I didn't personally find anything too graphic, but I put a warning just in case you need it.
I believe that when Kagami releases the next installment of this title, it will answer a lot of questions that I have about ONS - I can’t wait till the release. Generally speaking, I think if you want to know more about the vampires in ONS or just want to know more about Crowley, Ferid, and their relationship, you should check out these books.

Resurrection at Nineteen is a direct continuation of Catastrophe at Sixteen, so read those books before starting these.
These books earn the same praise I gave in my Catastrophe at Sixteen review, although I do prefer Yamamoto’s art style (I still love Asami’s though!!!). Contrary to what the name suggests, Guren (at this point in time, there are only two books released under this title) is not nineteen here (yet). It continues

to answer questions you might have about the series and offers more development into what Guren and his friends are like. I have been eagerly awaiting the next release and hope Kagami has plans to continue writing novels soon!

Catastrophe at Sixteen is a prequel to the main story and shows Guren’s life in his freshman year of high school right before the catastrophe that ended the world (with flashbacks to his childhood). You watch him as he makes friends (who we know as the Guren squad), experiences love, heartbreak, grief, and the start of the loss of his humanity. These books give a lot of background to his friends,

especially Mahiru and Shinya.
Kagami started his career in writing novels, and it really shows here. Although I love the Owari no Seraph manga, the way he writes his novels makes everything more emotional and personal. Guren and his friends feel way more relatable. There’s a good amount of scenes where they feel like real teenagers. Perhaps I’m biased, so take this with a grain of salt, but the Guren squad is much more enjoyable than the Shinoa squad - for one, they actually started as friends and weren’t just forced into a military squad; two, the Shinoa squad hasn’t had enough screen time (page time? IDK) to fully develop. I think anyone would enjoy watching the way Guren & Co. interact. If you’re a fan of Mika, Yuu, Shinoa, Ferid, or Saito, don’t worry, they appear in some chapters too.
If you read the Owari no Seraph manga and have questions, you should really read the novels. They don’t answer everything obviously, but they answer a lot and offer plenty of evidence for new theories. Even if you don’t enjoy Guren’s character, there’s a good chance you might still like it - these books made Shinya one of my favorite characters in the whole series. General warning that there are some scenes that talk of topics that can be upsetting to people, such as mentioned r//pe, child ab//se, and Mahiru Hiiragi being Mahiru Hiiragi (lmao). That said, I didn’t find it to be too graphic, but just in case you needed a warning.
