This is pretty enjoyable to read with the lead girl MC that has a great overall character. The premise may kind look cliche but the way it was executed was cute and adorable. Both brothers are interesting and side characters are well done as well. There isn't much to be said conflict wise as the story is very short.
I just really wish that they made this longer. I can see the potential of this manga and feel like there's more story that was left untold. Romance part can be fleshed out more and conflict about living together and being siblings could pose a deeper conflict.

It makes me really sad to see so many people trashing this manga because of somewhat off-putting start. It is true that the first arc of the series is one of the weakest as hey, who would like a MC girl falling head over heels to a sadistic douchey MC? They're so many other guy out there that are much much better and perfect for the main girl right??? right???.... Wrong! I dare to say that Kyouya is the perfect lead guy for Erika. Fight me.

It started out as pretty much like other cliche shoujo drama out there but once you get past by the 1st arc ( a bit messy), things will get better. I personally think that it takes some crafty writer to be able to constantly pound the two main leads with tons of challenges without compromising the foundation of the story which is the love between the two. I really really do want to love this manga but there's just too many issue with the writing of the character for me. I like the fact that the author was trying to create a MC guy with a very kind personality but when he only has that trait.. it make things kinda bland. Harumatsu Bokura is a light romantic story about love, friendship and rivalry that can easily be read by anyone. The plot is simple but executed brilliantly. The best part of this manga is the little moments between the two main leads and the secondary leads.
There isn't too many grand scale misunderstandings (except for one) and the author instead focuses on the little pockets of character development for each cast. Ao Haru Ride is the perfect mix of drama, romance and friendship. Every chapter is fast paced and exciting, which is probably why I finished reading it so quickly. The leads have extremely great chemistry and you can see perfectly the reason why the two love each other.
Individual characters were also great. Each has unique personality with lots of layers on them and all act and react naturally. The friendship and all the interactions doesn't feel forced.
