This entire review can be wrapped up in a single sentence. Beautiful animation but a poorly executed story. The premis of the show is great, the charachters sharing pain and emotion seems interesting enough,however, if that is the premise then the show obviously needs to be a charachter based show which is the major flaw here.
A show like this only makes an impact if the charachters can make you connect to them and care about them. I personally had a hard time connecting with the charachters mostly because they were not like able. Also there is a prominent lack of back story for any charachter

This is not your average review it is more like my own opinion of why I like Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru.
I have watched the first season twice and I am watching the second season. But the thing I love about this anime is the characters, whereas most anime use archetypes to lazily form charachters this anime does not. These are real charachters! Yes the protagonist is the antisocial charachters and was partially molded by the archetype but there is substance behind him and his way of thinking that makes him completely different. At first I refused to write anything about this anime because of my lack of enjoyment of this particular show. The premise of the show was promising, an immortal PI who investigates abnormal activities. That sounded like hours of fun to me but what I got was torture porn and a story that didn't even develop until halfway through the series. What most of you are probably wondering is "well if you disliked it so much why did you keep watching?" And that is a good question.

While guilty crown may not end up being your fav of all time I believe it gets a bum rap most of the time. The show for all intents and purposes is pretty good. Yes the concept is a bit weird and the characters have their quirks but it is a pretty good show overall.
High points: art and sound of this show are beautiful, they even incorporate music via the leading female character. The battle sequences are beautifully done and are fun to watch.
