I love serious anime, I dislike cookiecutter shounen, I hate dumb overly emotional anime and characters, I love calm, strong and smart characters.
Comedyvise I hate fart jokes, I hate POINTLESS randomness (literally 2006. trend),
but I love smart comedy,puns,cliches and random serious/comedy swaps.

at least HxH tried to make it credible. and not appealed to friendship power or power ups.
the purpose of that fighting (kastro vs gon) was not find out who is stronger
bakuman is shit, one of the worst and ridiculous love stories (I watched it all)
HxH show does not need a bad review, it needs an objective review

your HxH review is just bad, for one simple reason: its stupid to make a review having seen only 22 episodes, in that cases you should just dropp it.

I have read good reviews, which scores the anime with 7. but you made assumptions without understand the characters or the context.

- ''evil superstrong brother " NARUTO is a bad ripoff of HxH.

cliche" does NOT mean bad, but there are bad cliches.

Damn its a shame that you didn't like Hunter x Hunter. This started in 1997-8, so if you think this is copying series like naruto or bleach then it's actually the other way around. I really think you should give this show another chance seeing that you like deathnote ( which is btw my favourite anime). The way the story unravels afterwards, the visuals, the characters and even the sound is just a memorable experience. I think when your friend mentioned seinen he was probably talking about the chimera ant arc. I wouldn't go as far as to call this a Seinen but like I said before this is without a doubt the best shonen show out there. I won't force you but I just feel it doesn't do this series justice to be rated so low

The show doesn't really get dark until the Phantom Troupe arc. Give it another shot and then finish that arc.

Dude, your Hunter x Hunter review has got to be the most ignorant I have ever read.

Also, you claim that you dislike "cookiecutter shounen", yet a quick look at your anime list shows you gave a 6 to Naruto, which is literally the most cookiecutter shounen out there. That's pretty hypocritical of you.
