Manga: Chihayafuru
somehow the charactersetting in chihayafuru really reminded me of bokura wa itsumo - with chihaya's personality being similar to nori, arata to haruna and taichi to kyosuke. the stories are totally different though, but definitely worth reading

The male lead are similar in a way - for example, they are both in their own worlds, or something like that; mysterious/weird. Basically, you wouldn't know what they're really thinking. The female protagonists are also a bit weird - they do unordinary things, so in the end, both of the male and female characters are hard to relate to ourselves(?) . To explain, if i were to describe them as blood types, then both of the female and male protagonists would be AB. <-- (it's just an example) Also, because both of the stories have a girl that act as a love rival, such  read more

Sweet romance between childhood friends. Bokura wa Itsumo has multiple protagonists who are childhood friends and the story revolves around their relationship. Both mangas involve a childhood friend returning back to their hometown.

Though the stories are quite different, they both have a childhood friend that returns that likes the main girl. And plus, the both evolve around romance and comedy, so you might enjoy both.
