The main characters for both mangas are childhood friends. Its got to do with their dark past (for one of the childhood friends). I'm expecting a love polygon (I could be wrong since im still reading it). I wouldn't say the storyline is the same, but it gives off the same feeling if you read them.
I think the only difference is that Bokura wa Itsumo, for every chapter, its from a different main character's perspective. (personally i think its rather refreshing)
