Yeah, I thought this would be boring too. Boy was I wrong and I have never been happier to be wrong!

Firefighter Daigo follows (surprise) a firefighter named Daigo. He's fresh out of high school, and due to being rescued by a firefighter as a child, wants to become one. The series opens with him passing his test and joining the Medaka-Ga-Hama fire station, known for having absolutely nothing happen in the vicinity. Obviously, because this is a shonen, that won't do, and thus the most crazy yet somehow plausible scenarios are going to immediately crop up in this fire station's area. Now this place can't ...

Is this where I get to use the word "Gar"?

Yes, the main character Daigo is no Kamina, BUT metaphorically Daigo is simply like the eye of a storm. And a big one at that! No only does Daigo face some of the most extreme scenarios that can be plausible in the real world, but how he barely manages to "save the day" through his kan/intuition makes him one hell of a cool character!

There is plenty of drama when necessary, and with 20 volumes it is amazing how much can come out of a single fire station.

Read it to believe it, and ENJOY!

Megumi no Daigo is a must read! This was actually recommended to me on reddit, Who knew firefighting could be this exciting and interesting to read? every chapter story is unique, there are no rehashed content or reused scenario. The artstyle is old school but the story is super amazing, the characters have decent development enough to know and care about them, the ending isn't rushed either and the ending is satisfying. I really enjoyed reading this, I wish more people would know about this manga, I also wish it was longer because it was that amazing but we all know that every story ...

Lads honestly....forget Fire Force and read this decent 20 volume old skool manga that literally shows you how fire crews work behind the scenes. To give you a one sentence overview on this manga, it's basically about a 18 year old ex-delinquent Daigo, who becomes a firefighter after he was saved by a fireman at age 6. Like man, this manga literally will take you on his journey as if you're there to see what is to be a "natural" firefighter. I can't tell you how much painful trials rookies have to go through. In some of the scenes where he attends a "Rescue Training" ...
