A lot of series of oneshots blend into an indistinguishable mushy substance after a while. I promise you, each of the stories in Bannin will remain perfectly separate and identifiable. The stories are memorable and each has a certain special little something that will leave a mark. Despite the fact that some characters 'look' alike, they are so nicely portrayed, that there's no chance you'll mix them up. The stories are original, disturbing, and they deal with the psychology of the characters and the nature of their (weird) relationships.
The last story, Meguriai Cosmo, is weird and at the same time hilarious; however it still read more

Manga: Natsujikan
All stories are oneshots by Kunieda Saika. While they are realistic, many of them have the same sad feeling. The art style is typical for Sensei, with backgrounds amazingly drawn. Those are dramas firstly (However, there are comedyl elements, too). Not recommended for easily influenced (Especially stories Bannin(The Guardian) and The Sleeping Man), I personally cried.

Manga: Negai Kanae Tamae
Third story from Bannin, Sora no Uragawa, have same feelings as Negai Kanae Tamae. 'Coz I don't wanna make spoilers I'm only saying that flow of action is quite similar. And art is alike. If you like one you will surely like other one.

Manga: Sakura-gari
Bannin´s first story resembles Sakura Gari:
- In both there is a white haired, red eyed boy who looks like a girl and that was "hidden" from the others being enclosed in his room because he was an illegitimate child.
- Both are set in the same historical time.
- Both are really dark yaoi featuring drama/suicide/abuse elements.
