My Girl and Chichikogusa tells the story of parenting as a parent spends their days caring for their child. Both series' main male protagonist has lost and loved one and now hopes to live the best of their days with what they have left. There is an adequate amount of human expressions for both series' main characters as we see how they spend each day. In addition, both series has a concrete feeling of realism with a slow pacing story. 

Just some dads trying to take care of their kids. Heartwarming and disgustingly cute. 

Samurai Papa and Chichikogusa has the theme of parenting as the father takes cares of their child. Both series shows their sincere actions as they make a better living for the family. Samurai Papa is known for more of its comedy and unorthodox gimmicks while Chichikogusa follows a story that unfolds like a journey where there's more drama. 

Story about a man that has to live his life as a wanderer because of his job. Even though chichi doesn't talk about supernatural stuff, it tells a history about a wanderer pharmacist that seems quite similar to Ginko. Also the way that the stories develop gives a refreshing and calm feeling in both manga.
