+ Almost identical premise + Both parents are male + Slice of Life - My Girl (MG) is a Seinen, while Chichi Kogusa (CK) is a Shounen - Much different ways of handling plot/character development - The children are different genders - The children have almost opposite temperaments - CK seems episodic, while MG is not - MG has a softer art-style, while CK has the more traditional inked look

Mangas where husbands, having lost their wives, must now struggle to raise their child on their own, while simultaneously dealing with the loss of someone important to both the father and the child.

Chichikogusa is basically Mushishi if Ginko had a son and the illnesses he was treating weren't supernatural. Basically both are slice of life about a wandering middle-aged man who deals plants to ill people in preindustrial Japan.

it gives off the same vibe, the softness and you get a warm fuzzy feeling reading it. it's cute/adorable but at the same time funny. both have protagonists who don't know much about kids, example, they dont know how to deal with the child, but as time goes by, they get closer to each other and become more understanding.
