People who are tired of the world were invited to go into a different world. Due to reasons and interests, the invited people decided to go. It also happen that in both world they are invited, every conflict is to be decided by "games". While Mondaiji-tachi, the "games" are called games but not necessarily simple games but games that consist of war like situations. No Game No Life on the other hand, the games are simply games with additional element to make it more interesting.

In both series the main character gets transported to different world and play games expect that in Alice in Borderland they play to survive and generally have a darker theme than Mondaiji-tachi.

The protagonists in both story were adopted and raised by a powerful woman; they then travel around the world with their foster parent and learn a lot about myths, legends, mythical and supernatural creatures. Both protagonists are smart, have good deduction skill and act cool.
