Both have villainous protagonists (well, it's deuteragonist in Kamisama, Kisama wo Koroshitai), crime, violence, and generally dark atmosphere. 

Guns, crime, cynicism and a bunch of anti-heroic and villainous main characters. 

Both showcase a silent and potentially evil protagonist. Both focus on empowering the various characters. Samurai Deeper Kyo offers more comic relief. (needs 6 chapters to kick in) Akusaga is a short story. (needs 2 chapters to kick in) 

The feel of the manga is similar. Both stories have a villainous main character with a mysterious past. Both main characters are highly skilled in fighting. Beautiful art with bishounen. 

Same mangaka! A must read :) Her art is beautiful, and although Akusaga (Blank Slate) has some shaky story telling, Soul Rescue flows well.
