Steel Jeeg is yet another evolution in the Super Robot genre by the great Go Nagai. While there is less meat on Jeeg than there is on Mazinger, or Getter, Jeeg still offers a nice alternative inside the formula. While earlier introduced in Mazinger, the concept of animal robots in Jeeg begins to inch closer to what most western fans would be familiar with from Zoids. What particularly sets Jeeg apart from other in the genre isn't even the design, or story elemetns, but rather the choreography and fight combat differences.
